Man accused of obstructing Longford Garda appears before district court

A 29 year old Slovakian man who stands accused of public order offences in addition to “willfully obstructing a Garda during the course of his duty” is set to appear before Longford District Court again next month.  

Martin Grundza, of Lana Aoibheann in Longford town was charged by Garda Keith Dunleavy of Longford Garda Station with being intoxicated in a public place on November 24, as well as “having used or engaged in threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to provoke a breach of the peace” on the same date.  

Mr Grundza was also charged with having willfully obstructed Garda Dunleavy acting in the execution of his duty.  

Judge Bernadette Owens listed the matter for May 19.
