Moate Business College is the one of the largest colleges of Further Education in the Midlands, offering QQI Level 5 and Level 6 courses in Nursing, Childcare, Social Care, Business, IT, Media, Art and Sport.
They are currently accepting applications for September 2026 and below are some frequently asked questions about their college.

How can I apply?
It is very simple – just visit moatebusinesscollege.com and click on the Apply Now button. It only takes a couple of minutes to complete the application
Is there a fee to apply?
Making an application is free – there is no fee
Do I need Leaving Certificate Points to apply?
Applications are not assessed on a Points basis. Students should have completed their Leaving Certificate. Applications are also accepted from QQI Level 4 students and mature students (23+)
Can I apply for SUSI?
Yes, you may apply for SUSI and this does not affect your application for SUSI if you progress to university
Will this qualification help me get a job?
Yes, our courses will give you new skills that will enhance your employment opportunities
Can I apply for a degree after one year in MBC?
Yes, our QQI programmes give you a brand-new qualification, allowing you to apply for a degree after one year. You can use your new QQI qualification to apply and this can also overcome some entry requirements that you may not have in your Leaving Certificate e.g. a third language
Should I apply for a course even if I have the points required for university in my Leaving Certificate?
There are many advantages to completing a course in MBC, even if you have the points required. It helps to try out an area of study; it also gets you university-ready, giving you confidence and experience of college life
Can I stay for a second year if I want to?
Yes, we also offer a variety of Level 6 courses, further enhancing employment opportunities.
Can I visit the college?
Yes, and we also have our Open Days on Thursday, March 12 and Friday, March 13.
