Week long road closure for a Longford village due to emergency roadworks. Diversion details here

Diversions

Diversions will be in place in Ballyrevagh, Newtowncashel.

A temporary diversion route will be in place in Newtowncashel until Friday while emergency roadworks are carried out. 

The roadworks on the L-5245-0 in Ballyrevagh, Newtowncashel, will also involve tree removal and stump grinding. 

The works will be carried out each day this week from 8am until 5pm, ending this Friday evening, January 23.  

Emergency services and residents will retain access to the road at all times.

According to Longford County Council, “traffic will be diverted along the L‑1150‑0, proceeding to a right turn onto the L‑1147‑0, continuing to the L‑1143‑0, before taking a left turn onto the L‑1142‑0.”

“This diversion will also operate in reverse for traffic travelling in the opposite direction.”

Start and End Points

  • Start Point: Junction of the L‑1146‑0 and L‑5245‑0 in Newtown Cashel Village
  • End Point: Junction of the L‑1142‑0, L‑1143‑0 and L‑1141‑0 in Forthill
