Longford Gardaí questioning a man at the scene yesterday

Longford Gardaí were called to the scene of an alleged public order incident in Longford town centre yesterday.

The incident - in which a man was reported to have been causing a significant disturbance by "shouting and roaring" at people - occurred at the Bank of Ireland branch on Main Street.  

Outside the doors of the bank, a man could be heard explaining his version of events to the 4 Gardaí who arrived on the scene.

No arrests were made.
