Longford milliner Wendy Knight is participating in the Design & Crafts Council Ireland’s Made Local campaign.

Originally from Oxford, Wendy moved to Ireland in 1999 and by 2004, she had her millinery business up and running.

Working from her studio just outside Newtownforbes, Wendy Louise Designs specialise in one-off, handcrafted designs ranging from theatrical large-brimmed showstoppers, in a range of fabrics embellished with beads and veiling, to the more subtle styles such as cloches, pillboxes, trilbies, and fedoras.

DCCI’s Made Local initiative highlights the originality, quality and value of Irish designed and craft-made products.

It is a reminder to people that buying locally produced, well-crafted products is much more meaningful, sustainable, and impactful.
