Longford men found not guilty of being in possession of stolen caravans

Two men charged with being in possession of stolen caravans, have been found not guilty following a short jury trial at Longford Circuit Court.

Brian Stokes and Stephen Stokes, of 10 Grian Ard, Ardnacassa Avenue, Longford  were each found to be in possession of stolen caravans following a search of the property in January 2020.

However, a jury heard evidence of how both men had purchased the caravans from another man in Dublin, who had provided papers along with both caravans, leading the accused to believe they had engaged in a legitimate transaction.

They were both found not guilty by a jury of 12 people last week.
