Longford gardaí investigating as man (20s) hospitalised following New Year's Day assault
Gardaí have launched an investigation after a young man was hospitalised following an assault in Longford town in the early hours of New Year's Day.
It is understood that the victim sustained a stab wound to the leg during the incident.
A spokesperson from the Garda Press Office confirmed that, "gardaí are investigating an assault causing harm that occurred in Longford town on the 1st of January 2024 at approximately 6am.
"A man in his 20s was injured and taken to Regional Hospital Mullingar for treatment.
"No arrests have been made.
"Investigations are ongoing."
