Estates within the county that have active residents’ groups are the most in demand by prospective tenants and are among the most attractive estates in County Longford. There are currently 24 active groups.

The winners for 2023 were announced on September 13 with the overall prize going to River Crescent, Ballinalee. A full list of winners, which is divided up by large, medium, and small is published with this article. There were also three additional prizes given out as notable mentions.

Congratulating all winners, Cathaoirleach Cllr Colm Murray said, “As we near the end of the year, I’d like to take this opportunity to commend all residents’ groups of estates who do wonderful work to enhance their community environment.
It’s hard work keeping on top of everything, and that work, which we know goes on all year round, is greatly appreciated.”

Chief Executive Paddy Mahon added, “The standard of entries to this year’s competition was very high and we are delighted to recognise all of these local groups who do their part to make our communities better places to live.”
