Iarnród Éireann seeks planning for works at Longford railway station
Iarnród Éireann has lodged plans with Longford County Council seeking to develop a mobility impaired access structure and new car parking spaces at Longford railway station, Convent Road.
Iarnród Éireann has submitted plans for the the addition of a mobility impaired access structure (MIAS) that will be within the curtilage of Protected Structures (RPS Reference Nos.: 454, 476, 481, 482, 483, 484, 485 and 487, NIAH Survey Data Reg Nos.: 13004129, 13004044, 13004150, 13004046, 13008005, 13008006, 13008008 and 13004152).
The structure is a hybrid assembly of different concrete and steel elements including a pair of staircases (two flights each), free standing lift shafts, support portals and a walkway.
Associated works include relocation of 14 car parking bays and 1 EV charging point and ancillary works.
A decision on the application is expected to be made by February 20, 2024 and submissions can be made up to January 30, 2024.
