Chairperson of the Maria Edgeworth Centre, Matt Farrell said: "This is a great opportunity for people all over the midlands to visit Edgeworthstown, a town steeped in rich history.
"The Artisan Market is on behalf of the Maria Edgeworthstown Centre and promises to be a lovely day out for the whole family. The market is also indoors, so no need to worry about the weather," Matt added.
The first Edgeworth's Artisan & Craft Markets on behalf of the Maria Edgeworth Centre took place last Saturday, November 25 and there will be a second market on Saturday, December 16 from 11am to 4pm.
The market offers visitors a chance to explore the remarkable talents of local crafters and artists, immerse themselves in an abundance of unique creations and find endless inspiration for the upcoming winter holiday season.
As you stroll through the market, allow yourself to be captivated by the festive atmosphere and the warm hospitality of the Edgeworthstown community, organisers said in a public callout to potential visitors.
"Engage with the artisans, who will gladly share their stories and creative processes, offering you a deeper understanding and appreciation for their remarkable work. Don't miss out on this opportunity to explore the wonders of local artistry," they added.
In a further piece of good news for those thinking of heading down to check out the markets, admission is free!
Annarita Monaldi of Craft Around the Clock is the main organiser of the Artisan Market with artisans from all over the midlands coming together to show and sell their crafts.
She said, “Events like the Edgeworth’s Artisan & Craft Market showcase the many local talents and support small local businesses, as well as create a special occasion for the whole community to get together, support each other and start the celebrations of this year’s winter holidays.
“So our invitation is: ditch Amazon this year, and buy something unique, local, sustainable and handmade instead!”
So, gather your friends and family, and come to St Mary's Community Centre, Granard Road, Edgeworthstown.
Mark your calendars for your Saturday, December 16 from 11am to 4pm.
