A baby, an engagement and award winning cows - a memorable few weeks for one Longford family!

A baby, an engagement and award winning cows - a memorable few weeks for one Longford family!

The old saying of "everything is coming up roses" has never been more apt than with the continued great news for the Connaughton family, Cullentra over the past few weeks.

A few weeks ago, Martin and his wife Niamh welcomed their new baby boy into the Cullentra community, which was closely followed by a big announcement at the Animal Health Ireland Annual Awards CellCheck.

The winners from Lakeland Dairies were Padraig, Pauline, Martin and Niamh Connaughton for an award recognising excellence achieved in herd health by achieving consistently low somatic cell count in their animal herd.

The celebrations did not end there, as last week the announcement was made of the engagement of Martin and Pauline’s son, Brian, to Micheala McCarthy, daughter of Tom and Caroline McCarthy, Portarlington, Co Laois.

Congratulations to all the family on a very successful few weeks culminating with many reasons for celebration.
