Thousands without power in Longford as Storm Debi batters the country | FILE PHOTO
Thousands of homes and businesses in County Longford are without electricity this Monday morning following the arrival of Storm Debi overnight.
Longford wasn't included in the status red wind warning but a status orange warning remains in place until 10am.
Most public transport services will not operate until after 10am and schools will also remain closed until the status orange warning has been lifted.

According to ESB Networks the following faults / outages have been reported ;
approximately 3,000 customers in Longford (various outages reported between 6am and 7am; and power expected to be restored by 6pm)
almost 1,700 customers in Edgeworthstown (power outage reported at 05:37 and power expected to be restored by 6pm)
1,333 customers in Ballymahon (power outage reported at 06:21 and power expected to be restored by 6pm)
over 3,000 customers in Aghamore (power outaage reported just before 6am and power expected to be restored by 6pm)
1,767 customers have been affected by a power outage in Rooskey (reported at 6.09am and power expected to be restored by 6pm)
In general, winds are easing but motorists are being urged to exercise caution as there are reports of debris and fallen trees on some roads.
Nationally, the impact of Storm Debi does not appear to have been as bad as was feared.
