It was an emotional day for the students and staff of Clondra’s Scoil Mhuire as they bode farewell to long serving principal Colette McManus on foot of her retirement following over three decades of stellar service.
The well respected Roscommon native was given a rapturous send off last Friday as parents, pupils and work colleagues paid tribute to their retiring head teacher.
“I am so happy that one of our former pupils is our next Principal,” said Colette, when referring to how Melissa Hussey will assume the mantle of principal in the wake of her retirement.
“I feel confident that Scoil Mhuire, Clondra, will flourish and continue to mould and influence the minds of our young people intellectually, emotionally and socially under the new principal, Melissa, and the existing staff.”
