Longford's FeliSpeaks will feature in 'Ireland 100: An Old Song Re-Sung' on RTÉ One, RTÉ Player and RTÉ Radio 1 tonight Monday, October 30 from 9.30pm.
An audience of 1500 gathered at the RDS in Dublin on Octobeer 7 to watch 'Ireland 100: An Old Song Re-Sung', where a cast of 100 of Ireland’s most creative performers, writers and broadcasters assembled to present a broad-ranging live entertainment event.
RTÉ One, RTÉ Player and RTÉ Radio 1 will now bring this show to air in a variety of different forms on Monday October 30th at 9.30pm.
Ireland 100: An Old Song Re-Sung commemorates 100 years from 1923 - 2023 in performance, song, music, dance and spoken word, through the lens of Irish culture.
Featured artists and contributors include: Dermot Kennedy, Damien Dempsey, Tolü Makay, Colm Mac Con Iomaire and Síle Denvir with Bláth na hÓige and Liam Ó Maonlaí, Paula Meehan, Denise Chaila, Iarla Ó Lionáird, Dónal Lunny and friends, Eamonn McCann, FeliSpeaks, Diarmaid Ferriter, Martin Hayes, the London Irish Elders Choir and many more.
Contributions and performances from some of Ireland’s outstanding artists, singers, musicians, dancers and broadcasters combined with stunning archive film and stills projections create an immersive, engaging and reflective atmosphere.
Woven into the show are key themes of Ireland’s 100-year story of achievements, failures, challenges and changes. Human experience, identity and the cultural and artistic response to these events are at the heart of the show.
Ireland 100: An Old Song Re-Sung will air on Monday, October 30 at 9.30pm on RTÉ One, RTÉ Player and RTÉ Radio 1.
A full version of the live show will also be available exclusively on RTÉ Player and a special two-hour show for RTÉ Radio 1 will air on Monday, October 30 at 9.30pm.
