The Bula Bula Samba Band prepare for the Dead of Night Festival alongside Vincent Woods
The RTÉ Radio 1 series The County Measure will air an episode about Longford next Monday.
The programme will highlight different aspects of Co Longford such as culture, arts, sports , history, heritage and diverse communities.
From the flourishing biodiversity of Ardagh to the enchanting rhythms of a sensational samba band during Halloween festivities, The County Measure: Longford invites you to explore the ancient routes of ancestors, painting a vivid picture of the county.
Ríl Óg, the acclaimed traditional band from Lanesboro and Edgeworthstown, will unveil new and exclusive music on the programme. This ensemble previously claimed the title of "Longford's Next Superstar" from the Longford Leader.
The County Measure: Longford will feature an original piece of writing from Ballymahon author Adrian Duncan, best known for his work, "Little Republics: The Story of Bungalow Bliss."
Writer and broadcaster Vincent Woods narrates the programme and outlines all that Co. Longford has to offer.
He states that ''Co. Longford culture is alive and thriving - this place of quiet beauty holds a wealth of history, literary heritage, new and diverse communities, and proud local GAA teams who reflect all the best of continuity and change''.
