The Longford Arms will provide the setting tomorrow week (Thursday September 7) for the latest fundraising drive in aid of a Longford man's ongoing battle with cancer.
Family and friends of Johnny Maguire (pictured) are hoping to raise more than €50,000 in their attempts to secure the father of five potentially life saving treatment in Mexico.
The popular and well respected local man was diagnosed a number of months ago with an aggressive form of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma.
That came after Johnny initially believed his symptoms were linked to a severe case of tonsillitis.
Next week's fundraiser is just the latest in a range of events Johnny's close friends are holding in a concerted attempt to reach the required €50,000 figure to obtain potentially life saving treatment at a Hope4Cancer Hospital in Playas de Tijuana in Mexico.
'Johnny's Journey Fundraiser' gets underway from 7pm with a whole host of live musical acts set to take to the stage. Among them include Pub Fiction, Sugar & Spice, Alan Lee, Pat Harley and Neon.
Tickets on the night are €20 with a series of spot prizes also being awarded on the night.
