A defendant facing public order and theft charges will return before the court next month.
Gerry Nevin (30) of Mostrim Rd, Ballymahon came before Longford District Court facing two charges stemming from two separate incidents.
Mr Nevin is accused of public intoxication on June 22 last at Main St, Ballymahon and of the theft of property at Anglesea Road, Donnybrook on October 22, 2022.
Garda David Buckley gave evidence of arresting Mr Nevin on foot of a bench warrant after the defendant presented himself at Longford District Court on the morning of the court sitting.
Judge Patricia Cronin said she would put the charge from Ballymahon back in the list for October 10 next, with Sgt Mark Mahon indicating there was no Garda objection to bail. The judge granted bail on the defendant's own bond of €200.
The defendant was also remanded on bail for the Dublin matter to appear in Dun Laoghaire District Court on September 18.
An application for legal aid by the defendant solicitor, Brid Mimnagh, was approved by Judge Cronin as the defendant is not working.
