The guest of honour at the annual asado (barbecue) of the Longford Westmeath Argentina Society, held at the Rustic Inn in Abbeyshrule on Saturday, July 29 was the Argentine ambassador, Ann-Laura Cachaza, who was accompanied by Argentine embassy officials Juan Tacetti and Deputy Nicolas Vidal. Also present at the event were Deputies Peter Burke, Robert Troy and Joe Flaherty as well as Senator Micheal Carrigy, while Philomena Murnaghan, from Omagh and Paula Slattery from Dublin, both of whom previously held the role of Irish ambassador in Argentina, travelled from their homes to Longford.

Longford Leader / Longford Live photographer Shelley Corcoran was in the Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule to capture the atmosphere and we hope you enjoy her photos. And don't forget to tag and share with your friends!
