Andrew Jackson with his late Dad, Walter
Four students of the Leaving Cert Class of 2023 from St Mel’s College are undertaking a 155 km cycle in aid of Longford Hospice Homecare.
Having discovered their love for cycling in late 2022, the four 18 year olds, Andrew Jackson (Newtownforbes), Morgan Carrig (Longford town), Timothy Jangara (Longford town) and Niall Macken (Killoe) have clocked up a lot of mileage since!
Their next big adventure is on Thursday, August 10 next and it entails cycling 155 kilometres in aid of Longford Hospice.
They explained the reason behind their 'Cycling for a Good Cause' challenge. “Andrew's father, Walter Jackson, passed away on July 1 and we want to give back to an organisation that was so good to Walter and especially in supporting Andrew's family and many more across our wonderful county.”
The cycle begins in Longford town and ends at Dun Briste, not far from the late Walter's native Ballinglen, Ballycastle, located in County Mayo.
Andrew, Morgan, Timothy and Niall appreciate everyone's goodwill and they are asking people to support them and Longford Hospice via their 'Cycling for a Good Cause' idonate page
