A new state of the art office and co-working facility in the surrounds of Granard’s former Ulster Bank premises was the setting last Thursday night for the north Longford town’s annual agricultural show launch.

Paul Belton, the brains behind leading advisory Midland Agri Consultants, welcomed a capacity crowd to the refurbished building’s plush, new interior.

He said his company, which has in excess of 1,000 farmers on its books, had been a fervent supporter of a show which is now in its 72nd year since 2017.

“I am delighted to be able to host the 72nd Granard Show launch night,” he said.

“We started in 2017 sponsoring the show and it is going from strength to strength.”

Upon encouraging a round of applause for the show’s dedicated band of volunteers, Paul singled out the voluntary effort he had received in bringing the aptly named ‘The Bank’ premises to the modern finish it exudes today.

He also explained how he had decided to keep the historic building’s financial tradition alive with its new title going forward.

“We were googling last week and seeing as it was a bank for 147 years we decided we would just call it The Bank,” he said.
Paul went on to explain that his own firm were in the process of relocating to the new facility in a move that will also see two other prominent businesses set up base there.

“We have meeting spaces, we are also hoping to hot desk that if someone wants to come in during the day there will be desks provided and we have a meeting room that is open to the public and we have office space upstairs,” he said.

“We have a lot of interest already. Our own company, Midland Agri Consultants are going to move here and we are currently dealing with over 1,000 farmers in the midlands.

“We have Axa Insurance that are taking an office here from August 1 and we have KBG Accountants and are coming to set up here on August 1 too.”
