Excitement is building ahead of the fourth Little Heroes Charity Bike Run which takes place on Sunday, July 2.
This year's event will help raise funds towards the construction of a sensory garden at St Patrick's National School, Ballinamuck.

One of the driving forces behind the charity run is Glenn Campbell and he highlighted that owners of bikes and trikes are more than welcome to join them.

Glenn explained that registration for the 2023 event begins from 10am at St Patrick's NS (N39 CP04) and participants will depart the Ballinamuck school from 12 noon and set off on their 130km adventure across county Longford.

There will be stops along the route for refreshments at Brian Egan's in Ballymahon and at Declan Foxes in Ballinalee.
The first Little Heroes Charity Bike Run was organised in aid of Temple Street Children's Hospital (2020) and the beneficiaries in 2021 were St Christopher’s Services and in 2022, the funds raised went to assist a very special young lady, Billie Smith, who suffers from 'osteogenesis imperfecta', also known as brittle bone disease.

Glenn remarked, "We set up the charity back in January 2020 and the generosity of people has been unbelievable and we are hoping that people will be once again just as supportive on July 2 as the sensory garden will be a great asset to St Patrick's National school."

Glenn said he will always be very grateful to the doctors and nurses of Temple Street. “When he was three months old, our little man had an operation in Temple Street Hospital. Everyone there was incredible and we wanted to do something to say thanks, so we organised the first Little Heroes Charity Motorbike Run."

On Sunday, July 2, as the bikers make their way around the county, there will be bucket collections in Drumlish, Longford town, Ballymahon and Edgeworthstown and Glenn said all donations will be gratefully appreciated.

Last Friday night, June 16, from 8.30pm to 11pm, on the Little Heroes Charity Motorbike Run Facebook Page, there was 'an open mic night' fundraiser with Connie O'Reilly for the sensory garden at St Patrick's National School, Ballinamuck.

A gofundme page Little Heros Charity Bike Runwas running during the open mic night and this will also remain open for donations for the July 2 bike run.

The fourth Little Heroes Charity Motorbike Run takes place on Sunday, July 2. Registration at St Patrick's National School, Ballinamuck (N39 CP04) from 10am. Departs at 12 noon. All welcome.
