Longford gardaí arrest two unaccompanied learner drivers under influence of drugs
Longford gardaí have arrested two unaccompanied learner drivers in recent days under the influence of drugs.
Having stopped a car for speeding, Longford Roads Policing Unit, found that the vehicle had no tax or NCT, two front tyres were below the legal limit and the driver was an unaccompanied learner with no L plates on display.
The driver also tested positive for cocaine and was arrested, with a court appearance to follow.
In the second incident, the car had no tax, NCT or insurance. And the driver, an unaccompanied learner, tested positive for cannabis, cocaine, amphetamine / methamphetamine & benzodiadiazepines.
The driver was arrested and their car was seized, with a court date to follow.

Furthermore, they tested positive for cocaine.
