Longford Westmeath General Election 2024 updates: After count nine Labour's Fidelma Bennett is eliminated

And then there were nine....

After count nine there are nine candidates left contesting for the four remaining Longford Westmeath seats.

Louise Heavin's was knocked out in the last round, her 1,250 votes were scattered across the constituency, with Fidelma Bennett picking up lions share of those transfers (+307), but still knocked out of race.

Boxer Moran was the next highest, with 298 votes. The top four remaining candidates; Moran, Micháel Carrigy, Sorca Clarke, and Robert Troy, all appear to have sufficient leads to have put the remaining candidates in the rear view mirror.

Progress in the Count John McCormack is going well, with the Longford Leader keeping you up to date.
