General Election 2024: First Tallies see Peter Burke well in the lead, Carrigy in second place and Flaherty drops to 6th place

156 boxes out of 177 have been tallied, tensions are high.

General Election 2024: First Tallies see Peter Burke well in the lead, Carrigy in second place and Flaherty drops to 6th place

The Athlone Count Centre working hard

The Athlone Count Centre is now on tally box 156.

Peter Burke is currently dominating the poll with 8761 taking 16.7%of the tallies.

Carrigy has moved up to second place making up 13.0% of the tallies and taking 6851 votes.

Robert Troy is close behind and has moved to third with 6478 votes and 12.3% of the votes so far.

Boxer Moran has moved to 4th place and now has 6162 and 11.7% of the votes counted.

Clarke is in 5th place with 11.1% and 5842.

Joe Flaherty is in 6th place and has 9.6% of the votes and 5051 so far.
