While Warnock isn't optimistic about his chances this time around he gives the Longford Leader some insight on who he think may win.

Gerry Warnock has arrived at the Count Centre in Athlone.

He was kind enough to speak with the Longford Leader about how the race was going for him.

“I’m kind of resigned to the fact now that it’s probably not going to happen for me this time.

“Saying that, that’s based on 25 boxes opening at in and around 6% which is probably not high enough at this stage.

Gerry was in good spirits, however, and gave us his predictions for the outcome of this election.

“The ‘Boxer’ is going to be back in Athlone, I’m absolutely delighted to see that as I think there was a bit of an injustice last time, he’s such a hard-working TD that I worked personally with.

“Sorca Clarke seems to be holding her own.

“Peter Burke then as well and Robert Troy even though he had a slow start appears to be gaining a little bit of momentum.

“On that case, I'm thinking that Longford will probably have one seat and the man that’s in Poll position now is Mick Carrigy,” He concluded.
