Longford Senior League: Mostrim and Slashers clash ends in a draw

Mostrim and Longford Slashers played out a draw in the Division 1 Football League Round 4 clash at C & D Devine Park on Sunday.  

Mostrim . . . 0-10     Longford Slashers . . . 1-7

Both sides were guilty of some poor shooting and Edgeworthstown, managed by Dromard native Enda Macken, finished the game with 14 men after Sean Noone was sent off in the 46th minute for a second yellow card.

Mostrim also lost Shane Kiernan to a black card just before half-time and Slashers, who trailed by 0-7 to 0-5 at the break, hit the front with a goal from full-forward Daire O’Brien with five minutes gone in the second half.

The tight contest eventually finished all square with O’Brien getting the equalising point for the visitors with four minutes of normal time remaining.
