In recognition of his consistent and commanding performances at full-back for Slashers on their way to winning the Senior Football Championship title for the second year in succession, Barry Gilleran collected the coveted 2011 Senior Player of the Year Award at the Longford GAA All-Stars Gala Presentation Function in the Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule on Saturday night last.
Among the 230 attendance at the Brendan Gilmore Security sponsored event were special guests Liam O’Neill (the incoming GAA President) and former Kildare All-Star Dermot Earley.
