Longford GAA hope to be in a position to unveil their new senior football supremo to succeed Glenn Ryan prior to the Dromard versus Longford Slashers County Final on October 6.
“We have a certain amount of work done and hopefully by county final day we’ll be able to talk that we’ve x, y or z for the job,” revealed Longford GAA secretary Peter O’Reilly.
Meanwhile, Rathcline’s Gareth Johnston was appointed manager of the Longford Minor football team and he is putting together his own management team.
Former Kiltubrid and Dromard manager Sean Hagan was ratified as the new Leitrim senior team football manager on Friday. He succeeds joint managers Brian Breen and George Dugdale and has been appointed for a one year term.
Meanwhile, Dromard’s Damien Sheridan claimed the 14th annual DAA Kick Fada competition at Bray Emmets GAA Club on Saturday as he broke the world record by three metres with a kick of 75 metres.
