Cnoc Mhuire U-14’s conquer Gallen

Cnoc Mhuire, Granard U-14 footballers made a winning start in the North Leinster Post-Primary Schools Juvenile ‘C’ Championship when they scored a convincing victory over Gallen Community School in Ferbane on Thursday November 15th.

Cnoc Mhuire got off to a good start leading 0-4 to 0-1 after 10 minutes with excellent scores from Dylan Logan, Ruairi Harkin and Paul Leonard but Gallen CS rallied in closing the gap to the minimum of margins.

Oisin Pierson then got the first goal for Cnoc Mhuire after excellent work by Conor Brady and a second goal from Ruairi Harkin saw the Granard school open up a comfortable advantage and a brace of points from the roving Cian Madden left them leading by 2-6 to 0-4 at the break.

The Ferbane side looked to be getting back into contention before a Paul Leonard goal, a fine finish following an excellent Niall O’Hara pass, allowed Cnoc Mhuire to regain their composure and see the game out in some style.

An excellent result for the Cnoc Mhuire U-14s, managed by Owen Swaine, saw fine performances from Conor Brady, Ruairi Harkin, Cian Madden, Dylan Logan, Oisin Pierson, Thomas Doyle, Liam Gorman and P.J. Masterson.
