Former Roscommon shooting star Frankie Dolan, the man who guided Abbeylara to a memorable Senior Football Championship title triumph in 2024, is back to manage the Longford club for a third consecutive season.
Abbey relinquished the Connolly Cup when losing out to Colmcille at the quarter-final stage in 2025 but Frankie has worked wonders with a generally young squad who will prove to be a tough nut to crack in the battle for the coveted SFC title.
Rumours are circulating that their most experienced players, Robbie Smyth and Colm P Smyth, are contemplating retirement from their distinguished football careers but that remains to be seen!
