Blow for Longford as Iarla O’Sullivan suffers a serious injury

Longford senior football manager Paddy Christie will have to plan without regular defender Iarla O’Sullivan who suffered a serious injury in the National League Division 4 first round clash against Laois at O’Moore Park on Saturday evening last.

Rathcline clubman Iarla is believed to have broken a bone in his leg and was replaced by Killoe’s Liam Hughes in the closing stages of the game which ended in a two-point defeat for Longford. 

The unfortunate O’Sullivan is set to be ruled out for the remainder of the National League campaign which continues this Sunday in the crucial Round 2 clash against Tipperary at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, throw-in 2pm.
