This is one of our favourite pieces from the RTÉ Archives, where Mike Murphy interviewed Jim Sweeney on his Fairy Tree at Ardagh, was broadcast on February 18 in 1983.
Mike was reporting for ‘The Live Mike’ programme in Longford from a tree on land owned by Jim Sweeney.
Legend had it that when the tree falls, the last of the Sweeneys will die.
