Neighbours rally for sick parents who play “valued part in Midlands community”

A community in the Midlands has rallied to help their neighbours, who are facing “severe health crises”.

A group of friends and neighbours in Ballycumber village have rallied to help the Minnock family, who are facing health issues that have “put an immense strain on their lives”.

Helen and Kenneth Delaney, as well as Caitriona and Brendan Grennan, have set up a GoFundMe campaign, here, to support the Minnock family.

Barbara and Ger Minnock have four young children, Conal, Amber, Stanley and Zara. Recently, Barbara became critically ill and is now in intensive care at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Tullamore.

"The Minnock family, long-time residents of Ballycumber village, are facing severe health crises that have put an immense strain on their lives.

“Barbara's condition requires constant medical attention and specialised treatment. Adding to their hardship, Ger is also facing a serious medical issue that may necessitate urgent intervention. The dual medical crises have left the family struggling to cope, both emotionally and financially,” said Helen Delaney on the fundraiser page.

“We are aiming to raise funds to assist the Minnock family with ongoing medical expenses, family support (helping with everyday expenses to ensure that their four children have their needs met during this difficult period).This support will go a long way in providing a cushion for any unforeseen expenses that may arise as a result of these health challenges.

The Minnock family was described as a “valued part” of the Ballycumber community.

“They have always been active members, contributing their time and energy to support others. Now, it's our turn to support them. Your generosity will make a tremendous difference, easing the financial burden on the family and allowing them to focus on what truly matters—healing and caring for each other.
