Concern Worldwide has sent out 269 tax back forms to PAYE taxpayers in Longford, who have generously donated more than €250 each to Concern throughout the last four years.
The organisation can claim back tax on donations once the form is ticked and signed by the donor.
“By doing this, you will be helping release much needed funds for Concern’s work in countries such as South Sudan,”Aoife Garvey, Concern Campaign Manager added. “Families in South Sudan are facing severe food shortages due to ongoing droughts which have destroyed the harvests. Part of our work in the region involves funding and staffing Therapeutic Feeding Centres, where we treat malnutrition which is the most problematic result of poor harvests and food shortages. Funds like these are very easily released through the completion of the tax back forms.”
Concern can reclaim up to 69% of the value of a donation from those on the higher tax rate; a donation of €250 could be worth an extra €173; 25% can be claimed from those on the standard tax rate and a donation of €250 will be worth an extra €62.50.
