When guests arrive at the party, a plethora of refreshments are offered before sitting to a sumptuous three-course meal provided by Ballinamuck catering company, Dial-a-Chef. Afterwards, local musicians entertain and invite all to dance.
The Ballinamuck Christmas Community Party is organised each year by the committee, comprising approximately nine dedicated members.
Speaking to the Longford Leader, committee member, Martha, elaborated on how the committee organises the event:
“We have pre-drinks at 2pm, meals at 3pm. Entertainment then follows.”
The group is keeping an open call for any musicians and entertainers who may be available to perform to the community for this very special event.
Moreover, this event is extra beneficial to the community for its welcoming atmosphere, as well as appropriate venue, so that many people can arrive and feel comfortable.
“It’s a lovely time for the older generation to meet, see their neighbours, have a little chat and a drink and a dance. It’s a great little afternoon. You get to chat with friends. It’s so simple yet is so wholesome. The hall is a lovely facility, a great meeting place. A wheelchair accessible toilet. The hall is wheelchair friendly."

Martha then added:
“A big thank you to all who make this happen every year, from our committee members to the '98 hall, for kindly allowing us to use the hall every year. Our musicians and entertainers as well over the years.”
It is not a day to be missed, and everybody is welcome to join this Christmas community event in Ballinamuck!
