Ballinamuck Social Dancing

The monthly event continues to be a hit since beginning in 2024

As a village full of history and activity, Ballinamuck’s Social Dancing is a massive contributor to keeping local engagement. Having only started in January 2024, these dances take place on the last Sunday of every month between 5-7pm in the ‘98 Memorial Hall.

The evening event is not only for dancing, but it is for socialising and to enjoy the live music offered to create a memorable experience. The music varies to suit all tastes, including local bands. Next month plans on having Family Affair as its musical number. Its ambience is homely and welcoming, with tea and homemade food available for the entire duration to be enjoyed. The event is accessible for wheelchair users as well, making it the perfect, informal activity to get to know new faces, current faces or faces who have not been met in a while.

Not only is it keeping Ballinamuck entertained, the monthly event helps keep the upkeep of the ‘98 Memorial Hall. The €10 admission to enter is how the social dancing helps maintain the hall, as it is the hub of Ballinamuck. The hall hosts an array of community events beyond the social dances, but has hosted dances since the 70s, so is part of the village’s tradition.

With a special shout out to the dancers, as well as volunteers and stewards who have made the event a seamless experience, the Ballinamuck Social Dancing will be back at the end of the month. Despite being only around since 2024, it has proven to be a popular date for all ages.
