Deaths in Longford - Saturday, February 9, 2019 - evening

Lou Albert Tormey, 14 Castle Gardens, Newtownforbes, Longford / Westmeath
The death occurred, suddenly, in Mullingar General Hospital, on Friday, February 8 of Lou Albert Tormey, 14 Castle Gardens, Newtownforbes, Longford and formerly Clara Road, Moate, Co Westmeath. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Theresa, brothers Pat and David, sister Neillie Vine. Lou will be sadly missed by his wife Marie, son James and his girlfriend Edel, brothers Joe and Christy, sisters Marjie Simons, Mary Guinan Kay Bannon,brothers-in-law Barry, Jim, Pauric, Michael, Peter and Barney, sisters-in-law Phyllis, Maria, Jean, Aggie and Bridget, neighbours, friends and his Army Colleagues.
Lou was a Serving member of 4th Cavalry Sqn and 6th Inf Bn, for 42 years which included 13 overseas service Missions with UNIFIL.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, Love leaves a memory no one can steal. Rest In Peace.

The death occurred, peacefully, in the care of the staff of the Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, Longford, on Saturday, February 9 of Nancy Grimes (née Murphy), Fyhora, Moyne, Longford / Grangebellew, Louth. Predeceased by her husband John, sister Phyllis and brother Christy. Sadly missed by her sons James and Padraig, daughters-in-law Marian, Pauline and her 8 grandchildren, sister Veronica, brothers Dessie, Larry and Fenton (USA), nieces,nephews relatives & friends. RIP.
Reposing at Laurel Lodge chapel on Sunday, February 10 from 4pm to 6pm with removal on Monday morning, February 11 to St Francis's Church, Moyne, for 11am Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in Legga Cemetery.

Martha Gunshinan (née Slevin), Drumlish Hill, Drumlish, Longford / Mohill, Leitrim
The death occurred, peacefully, in the care of the staff at Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, Longford, on Thursday, February 7 of Martha Gunshinan (née Slevin), Drumlish Hill, Drumlish, Longford and formerly of Drumcunney, Mohill, Co Leitrim. Predeceased by her husband Tom, brothers Patrick, Bill, JohnJoe, sisters Nell, Teresa McNulty & Mary Pratt. Deeply regretted by her stepson Frank, sister Betty (Keenan), sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she Rest In Peace.
Funeral Mass at 11am on Sunday, February 10 in St Mary's Church, Drumlish followed by burial in Drumlish old Cemetery.

Leo Kiernan, Malahide, Dublin / Longford
The death occurred of Leo Kiernan, Malahide and formerly of Co Longford, peacefully in the care of St Francis Hospice, surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband of Carole. Predeceased by his brothers Peter and Packie. Very sadly missed by his wife, children Paul, Claire, Jennifer and Robert, daughters-in-law Averil and Joanna, sons-in-law Michael and Claude, grandchildren Amy, Kate, Jack, Robyn, Harry, George, Sadie, Lara and Luca, sisters Bess and Bridie, brothers Michael, Mel and Tony, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Rest in Peace.
Reposing in Staffords Funeral Home, Strand Road, Portmarnock on Monday, February 11 from 4pm to 6pm. House private. Removal to St Sylvester's Church, Malahide on Tuesday morning February 12 for 10am Funeral Mass, followed by burial in Rolestown Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to the Irish Cancer Society or St Francis Hospice.

Noel O'Neill, Bellaney, Castlepollard, Westmeath

The death occurred, peacefully, after a long illness, bravely borne at Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, February 7 of Noel O'Neill, Bellaney, Castlepollard, Westmeath. Predeceased by his parents, brothers Pat and Aidan, sisters Teresa and Jacinta. Survived by his loving wife Rita, daughters Sinead, Niamh, Aisling, Cariosa and Clodagh, sons in-law Tommy, Alan, Christy, Darren and Derek, his adoring grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, relatives and a wide circle of friends. May he Rest  In Peace.
Reposing at his residence on Saturday, February 9 from 4pm. Removal on Sunday, February 10  to St Mary’s Church, Collinstown for 2pm funeral mass and burial afterwards to adjoining Cemetery. House strictly private Sunday morning please. The family would like to thank Dr Pat Cullen, Coole, Dr Mark Sheehy and all the nurses and staff from Midlands Regional Hospital for their constant care and attention. Family flowers only please. The death occurred on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 of Tom (Moss) Farrell, Kingsbury, England and Bethlehem, Tubberclair, Glasson, Westmeath, peacefully.

Funeral Mass on Sunday, February 10 at 1pm in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Tubberclair, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.
