Deaths in Longford - Monday, December 10, 2018 - evening

Ned Duggan, Knockatarry, Kenagh, Longford


The recent death has occurred on Saturday, December 8 of Ned Duggan, Knockatarry, Kenagh, Co Longford, peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home.
Ned will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, wife Bernadette, daughters Anita, Bernice, Caroline, Ann-Marie and Aoife, sons Eddie, Paul, Chris, Mark and Joe, sister Mary Kate, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road, on Tuesday, December 11 from 5pm until 7pm, concluding with prayers at 7pm. Removal on Wednesday, December 12 to arrive at St Anne’s Church, Curry, for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack Cemetery. Family flowers only please donations if desired to Longford Hospice Homecare.

Damien Lynch, Gelsha, Ballinalee, Longford / Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim
The death occurred on Friday, December 7 of Damien Lynch, Gelsha, Ballinalee, Longford and formerly Gortinty, Aughamore, Co Leitrim, suddenly at his home in Gortinty in his 25th year.
Damien will be forever missed by his heartbroken mother Rosemarie, father Lar, brother Michael, sister Tara, uncles Pauric (Gortinty) and Micheal, aunt Regina (Multyfarnham), cousins, neighbours and his many friends. When the sun says goodbye to the earth, it leaves a beautiful sunset as a gift. When family say goodbye to each other, they leave mementos of everlasting and priceless memories. Goodbye Damien, we will forever miss you. Rest in peace.
The family home in Gelsha, Ballinalee is open to friends and neighbours, all welcome. Private cremation will take place on Tuesday December 11. A Mass to celebrate Damien's life will take place in St Colmcille's Church, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford, on Wednesday December 12 at 11am. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date. Family time on Wednesday morning please.

Mairéad Begley, Aughaboy, Killoe, Longford
The recent death has occurred on Wednesday, December 5 of Mairéad Begley, Berkshire, England and formerly of Aughaboy, Killoe, County Longford. Suddenly at her residence in Berkshire.
Deeply regretted by her heartbroken parents Michael and Mary Begley, brother Tom, sisters Ann, Teresa, Cathy and Niamh. Brothers-in-law Paul and Paddy. Sisters-in-law Katherine and Juni.Nieces Megan, Giselle and Grace. Nephews Daniel and Finn.Aunts, uncles, cousins , relatives and many friends.
Remains reposing at the home of her parents in Aughaboy, Killoe, County Longford Wednesday evening, December 12 from 6pm. Funeral Mass to St Mary’s Church, Ennybegs, Killoe, on Thursday, December 13 at 12 noon with burial afterwards to Aughaboy Cemetery. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

Aggie ‘Agnes’ Ward (née Reynolds), Glack, Park Road, Longford Town, Longford


The death occurred, peacefully, at home surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, December 8 of Aggie ‘Agnes’ Ward (née Reynolds), Glack, Park Road, Longford Town, Longford. Predeceased by her sister Maureen and her brother PJ. Aggie will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, husband TJ, daughters Carol and Linda, sons Niall and Fintan, grand-daughter Orla, brothers Tom and Barney, daughter in law Katie, son in law Marc, sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

The death occurred on Sunday, December 9 of Cyril Cosgrove, Comagh, Garadice, Ballinamore, Leitrim, peacefully, in the loving care of his family, staff and friends at St Raphael's, Cregg House, Sligo. Predeceased by his father John. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his mother Vera, brothers Vincent and Iain, sisters Thelma Gilleran,Veronica McGovern and Sinead Conefrey, extended family, relatives and a large circle of friends at Cregg House. May Cyril Rest in Peace.

Elizabeth (Lily) McWeeney (née McWeeney), Dromore, Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim


The death occurred on Sunday, December 9 of Elizabeth (Lily) McWeeney (nee McWeeney), Dromore, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co.Leitrim, peacefully in her 97th year at Abbey Haven Nursing Home, Boyle.
Predeceased by her husband Michael, infant son Noel, sister Bridie and son-in-law Cyril. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving sons Michael, Joe and Kieran, daughter Marian (Mulvey), daughters-in-law Bridie, Kathleen and Eileen, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister Maura Devine (Bornacoola), Helen U.S.A, brothers Tommy (Lismakeegan) and John (Annaduff), sister-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest In Peace.
Reposing at St Patrick's Hospital Chapel, Carrick-on-Shannon, on Tuesday evening December 11 from 3.30pm until 6pm with removal to St Mary's Church, Carrick-on-Shannon, arriving at 7pm. Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, December 12 at 12 noon with funeral afterwards to St Mary's Cemetery.

Mary Ellen Sheridan (née Fitzpatrick), Cavanfin, Crossdoney, Cavan
The death occurred on Monday, December 10 of Mary Ellen Sheridan (nee Fitzpatrick), Cavanfin, Crossdoney, Cavan, surrounded by her loving family at Cavan General Hospital.
Beloved wife of the late John and devoted mother of Geraldine, Willie, Declan, Evelyn, Martin, Olive, Ita, Fiona, Joan, Patrick, Michael and John. Sadly missed by her loving family, her adored grandchildren, brothers Tom and John Fitzpatrick, brother-in-law Tommy Sheridan, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
May She Rest In Peace. Reposing at her home in Cavanfin, on Tuesday, December 11 from 11am until 5.30pm. House private to family thereafter until removal to St Felim’s Church, Ballinagh arriving at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday morning December 12 at 11am, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery. A shuttle bus service will run from Crossdoney Tractors to the House on Tuesday.
