Mary Farrell, Annally Park, Longford Town, Longford

The death occurred peacefully, in the loving care of the nurses and staff at Shannon Lodge Nursing Home, Rooskey, on Friday, November 28, 2025 of Mary Farrell, Annally Park, Longford Town, Longford and late of Bawn, Moydow. 

Sadly missed by her loving brother Michael, nephews Paul and Pauric (and his wife Gráinne), grandnephews Séamie and Paddy, her sister-in-law Margaret, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest in peace.

Reposing in St. Mary's Church, Moydow on Sunday, November 30 from 5pm with Prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, December 1, 2025 at 11am. Burial afterwards in the local cemetery. House private. Funeral Mass may be viewed online here.

Shane Carrigy, Ballymakeegan, Longford, formerly of Lislea, Ballinalee, Longford

The death occurred on Thursday, November 27, 2025 of Shane Carrigy, Ballymakeegan, Longford, formerly of Lislea, Ballinalee, Longford. Predeceased by his mother Catherina. ​​

Shane will be sadly missed and forever loved by his family, his beloved wife and best friend Anne, his cherished children Kayla and Ryan. His father Michael, sister Michelle and brothers Raymond,Michael (Karena) and Aiden. Father in law Pat Joe, mother in law Maria, brother in law Michael, sisters in law Margaret (Dermot), Patricia (Gerard) and Marie, nephews, nieces, uncles,aunts,cousins,extended family and a large circle of friends. May Shane rest in peace. 

Reposing at Holy Trinity Church, Ballinalee (N39PP60), this Saturday, November 29 from 4pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Funeral mass will take place on Sunday, November 30 in Holy Trinity Church, Ballinalee at 2pm. Followed by burial in St Emer's Cemetery, Ballinalee.​​​​​ Funeral mass may be viewed live HERE. Noel Brady, Kilmainham, Ballinagh, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 29, 2025 of Noel Brady, Kilmainham, Ballinagh, Cavan and formerly Lacken

Predeceased by his beloved wife and best friend Nuala, his parents Phil and Lena, his brothers-in-law Hughie McGovern and Packie Smith and sister-in-law Kathleen Harten. Noel will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son Cormac (Michelle), his adored grandson Cian, his brothers Eamonn (Attracta) and Padraic (Pauline), his sister Eileen, sister's in law Bridie Smith and Marie Dalton (Paddy), nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and many friends. May Noel rest in Peace. 

Reposing at the home of his son Cormac H12X274, Kilmainham, Ballinagh on Monday, December 1 from 2pm until 8pm. For those traveling to the family home a one way system will be in operation arrive via Cashel cross, please. House private at all other times please.

Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 12noon in St Michael’s Church, Potahee, interment afterwards in St Felim's old Cemetery Ballinagh. Funeral Mass will be live streamed HERE

Brigid Annie Bohan (née Molloy), Drumgowna, Gortletteragh, Leitrim / Mohill, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully, in her 102nd year, in the kind care of staff of Aras Carolan Nursing Home, Mohill, on Saturday, November 29, 2025 of Brigid Annie, Bohan (nee Molloy) O’Carolan, Court, Mohill and late of Drumgowna, Gortletteragh. 

Brigid was predeceased her husband John Pat and her siblings Johnny, Tommy and Alice. She will be greatly missed by her close friends, Mary Carroll and Sissie Bohan, by her nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins and many friends. May Brigid Rest in Peace.

Reposing at the residence of her niece Philomena at no 8 Main Street, Drumsna on Monday, December 1 from 4 to 6 pm followed by removal to St Patricks Church Mohill for prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, December 2 at 11 am, followed by burial in Gortletteragh cemetery. Funeral Mass can be viewed HERE

Rita O'Connor (née Geraghty), College Road, Castleisland, Kerry / Streete, Westmeath

The death occurred peacefully at home in the presence and care of her loving husband and family on Saturday, November 29, 2025 of Rita O'Connor (née Geraghty), College Road, Castleisland, Kerry / Fermore, Streete, Westmeath. 

Sadly missed by her devoted husband John, her family Seán, Marie, Marcelline and Brian, sons-in-law Matt and Eamon, daughters-in-law Mary and Mags, her adored grandchildren Gráinne, Seán, Diarmuid, Stephen, Enda, Peter, Matthew, Aidan, Niamh, Rachel, Meaghan and Shane, brother Jimmy (San Francisco), sister Teresa (Ballymahon, Co. Longford), sisters-in-law Patty (San Francisco) and Josephine (London), nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Also remembering today her deceased parents Patrick and Bridgid, her brothers and sisters Kitty, Bridie, Mary, Lily, Margaret, Sr. Cella, Peter, Nora and Brian. May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Reposing at Tangney's Funeral Home Church Street Castleisland on Tuesday evening, December 2 from 5pm to 7pm. Removal from her residence on Wednesday morning, December 3 at 10.30am arriving to Castleisland Parish Church for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. John's Cemetery Castleisland. Kathleen Lagarde (née Doyle), Enaghan, Aughnacliffe, Longford / Arva, Cavan

The death occurred in the Netherlands on Monday, November 24, 2025 of Kathleen Lagarde (née Doyle) Culemborg, Netherlands and formerly Enaghan, Co Longford.

Predeceased by her parents Brian and Mary Anne Doyle, sister Siobhán, brothers Liam, Seamus and Michael. Kathleen will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, daughter Sabrina (Chris), son Andrew (Laura), their father Bert, her adored grandchildren, Quinn and Kian, brothers Noel (Kathleen) and Vincent, sisters Bridie (Randolph Applewhaite, England), Mary (Mick Flavin Drumlish), Claire (Dessie Ronan, Cavan), Bernadette (Frank Meaney U S.A), Teresa (Pat Finnegan, Cavan), Carmel (Sean Duffy, Legga) and Martina (Peter Donohoe, Dromard), nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and many friends.

Funeral will take place on Tuesday December 2 in Culemborg, Netherlands at 10am (9am Irish time), followed by cremation.  Funeral will be live streamed HERE.

Mary Birkett (née Geelan), Longford town, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025 of Mary Birkett (nee Geelan), Suffolk, England and formerly of Dublin Street, Longford. 

Pre-deceased by her parents James and Bridget, brothers Gerry, Con, John and Dermot and by her beloved husband Ernest. Mary will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Mary will leave Glennon’s Funeral Home on Thursday morning, December 4 to arrive at St Mel’s Cathedral for the Mass of the Resurrection at 11am, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack cemetery. The Funeral Mass will be streamed live HERE

The death occurred suddenly, but peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 of Private Walter Gibbons, Cornashinnagh, Four Mile House, Roscommon.

Predeceased by his parents Peter and Gretta, brothers Martin and Colm, sisters Carmel and Helen. Sadly missed by his adored daughter Emma and her mother Teresa, his sisters Gertie, Bernadette, Pauline, Leonie , Miriam and Jacinta, his brothers Gerard and Joseph, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and a wide circle of extended family, friends and neighbours. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at McHugh’s Funeral Home, Strokestown (F42 RK72) on Sunday, November 30 from 3pm-6pm. Mass of the Resurrection will take place on Monday, December 1 at 11am, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Strokestown, Burial afterwards in Ballinderry Cemetery. House private please.
