Mary Farrell (née Spearman), Cloughan, Moydow, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home on Friday, November 7, 2025 of Mary Farrell (nee Spearman), Cloughan, Moydow, Co Longford. 

Pre-deceased by her beloved husband James, parents Joe and Margaret, sister Peggy, brothers Jimmy, Tommy and Johnny, grand-daughters Sinead and Sarah and by her dear friend John. Mary will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, daughter Rita O’Donoghue (Ballinacarrigy), sons Tim (Taughmaconnell), John (Kenagh) and Brendan (Killashee), sisters Bridie and Kathleen Farrell, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Sunday, November 9 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Monday, November 10 in St Mary’s Church, Moydow at 11am , interment afterwards in Moydow cemetery. The family very much appreciates your support at this time. Pex (Kathleen) Branagan (née Plunkett), Blackrock, Dublin / Longford

The death occurred unexpectedly, yet peacefully at St Vincent’s University Hospital on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 of Pex (Kathleen) Branagan (née Plunkett) Blackrock, Co Dublin and formerly of County Longford.  

Predeceased by her husband Noel and son-in-law Pádraig. Much loved mother of Anne, Betty, Pat, Victor, Frank and Noelle. Pex will be very sadly missed by her daughters, sons, sons-in-law Willie, Graham, David and Keith, grandchildren Sarah, Jesse, Jo, Martha, Josh and Matthew, her step-grandchildren Charlotte and Sophie, sister-in-law Mary-Anne, cousin Brian Plunkett and his family, nieces, nephews, extended family, exceptional home carer Violeta, and her many friends including those in Dun Laoghaire Golf Club. Rest in Peace.

Pex will be reposing on Friday afternoon, November 7 at Fanagan's Carnegies Funeral Home, Monkstown A94 XK28 from 2pm to 4pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday morning, November 8 at 10am in Church of St John the Baptist, Blackrock followed thereafter by burial at Shanganagh Cemetery. For those who wish to follow the Mass online Click HERE.

Beatrice Hayes (née Kelly), Longford / Castlerea, Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully in Fleet Dartmouth care home aged 99 on Monday, October 20, 2025 of Beatrice Hayes (née Kelly), formerly of Longford and Rampark House, Castlerea, Roscommon. Born 27 April 1926, eldest daughter of Mark and Marie Kelly. Lived and farmed in Ireland and Monmouth, UK married in 1950, to Bob Hayes (1920-1984). 

Sadly missed by her Immediate family, only daughter Alex, son in law Jim Swindells, grandchildren Emma, and Jimmy and 3 great-granddaughters. Remembered by many nieces and nephews in Ireland. Rest in Peace. Funeral Mass and burial on November 11, at 11am at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Monmouth, Wales. Helen Coghill (née Lynch), Waterstown, Glasson, Westmeath / Athlone, Westmeath / Dysart, Roscommon

The recent death has occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 7, 2025 of Helen Coghill (nee Lynch), Waterstown, Glasson, Athlone, Co Westmeath & formerly of Dysart, Co Roscommon.

Predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Annie, her brothers, Paddy, Peter, Eamon and Tommy, sisters Mamie and Teresa. Sadly missed by her loving husband P.J., son Niall, daughters Elaine (Skeffington), Gillian (Sheehy-Coghill), Niamh, Áine (Hall), her twin sister Dympna (Hall), sisters Phyllis (Mulry), Bernadette (Doyle), daughter-in-law Sarah, sons-in-law Anthony, John and Andrew, her adoring grandchildren Sadhbh, Donnacha, Eleanor, Ronan, Andrew, Ethan, Alex and Síofra, nephews, nieces, in-laws, relatives and many friends. May She Rest In Peace.

Reposing at her residence (Waterstown, Glasson | N37 C2C5) on Saturday, November 8 and Sunday, November 9 from 3pm. Requiem Mass on Monday, November 10 at 11am in Church of the Immaculate Conception, Tubberclaire followed by burial in the Adjoining Cemetery. Family Flowers Only Please, donations if desired in lieu, to the Irish Cancer Society. The family greatly appreciates your sympathy and support at this very difficult time.

James (Jimmy) O'Reilly, St Patrick's Park, Carrick-on-Shannon, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the tender loving care of the Doctors, Nurses and staff at Lough Erril Nursing Home, Mohill on Thursday, November 6, 2025 of James (Jimmy) O’Reilly, St Patrick’s Park, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co Leitrim, formerly Clones, Co Monaghan.

Pre-deceased by his wife Sheelah (née McVeigh). Jimmy will be sadly missed by his loving family, sons Pat (Carrick-on-Shannon), Charlie (U.S.A), Billy (London), Christopher (Drumshanbo), daughters Noreen (Keadue) and Emer (Dublin), son-in-law Aengus, daughter-in-law Melanie, grandchildren Roy, Cian, Colm, Janelle, Jack, Liam, Matthew, Isobel, Oliver and Arlo, sister-in-law Bella (Liverpool), extended family, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Jimmy will repose at The Heritage Centre, Chapel of Rest, Church Lane, Carrick-on-Shannon (N41 KP62) on Sunday, November 9 from 4pm until 6pm followed by removal to St Mary’s Church, Carrick-on-Shannon arriving at 7pm. Dan (Daniel) Egan, Mullanadarragh, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim

The death occurred suddenly but peacefully at his home in his 88th year on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 of Dan (Daniel) Egan, Mullanadarragh, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim.

Pre-deceased by his parents James & Mary Jane, his brother Frank and his sisters Annie & Ellen. Dan will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his sister Margaret McGirl, nephews Frank & Jimmy, niece Margaret, grandnephews & grandnieces, great-grandnephews & great-grandnieces, and numerous friends & family. Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Smith’s Funeral Home, High St Ballinamore, Co Leitrim, N41 TD62 on Sunday evening, November 9 from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral Mass and burial will take place at St Mary’s Church, Carrigallen on Monday November 10 at 11am.

Seán Burke, Lisroyne Oaks, Strokestown, Roscommon / Glasnevin, Dublin

The death occurred on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 of Sean Burke, Lisroyne Oaks, Strokestown, Roscommon and formerly of Glasnevin & Chapelizod, Co Dublin.

Seán will be sadly missed by his brothers & sisters, Denis, Paul, Eilish & Margaret, nieces & nephews, Lisa, Brian, Christina, Alan, Stephen, Caitriona, Fiona, Claire, Denis & Peter, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, brother-in-law Andy, sisters-in-law Majella & Aileen, relatives, neighbours and friends. Seán is predeceased by his parents Teresa & Denis, by his nephew Gerard and by his grand-nephew Keith. Rest In Peace.

Remains reposing at McHugh's Funeral Home, Strokestown (F42 RK72) on Tuesday, November 11 from 5pm until 7pm. Removal on Wednesday, November 12 to Strokestown Parish Church for Funeral Mass at 11am. Cremation afterwards in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan, at 2pm.

Tony Lennon, Cloonfad, Rooskey, Roscommon / Tulsk, Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully at his residence, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 7, 2025 of Tony (Michael Anthony) Lennon, Cloonfad, Rooskey, Co Roscommon and formerly Manor, Tulsk, Roscommon.

Tony will be sadly missed by his heartbroken family, wife Monica, son Eoin (Melina), daughters Orlagh (Paddy), Aideen (Denis) and Aisling (Darren), sisters Margaret and Angela, brothers Kevin and John, his six adored grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. May he rest in peace.

Tony will repose on Sunday, November 9 in Leavy’s Funeral Home, Scramogue (F42 FD78), from 4pm-6pm. His funeral cortège will leave his residence on Monday, November 10 to arrive at Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Rooskey for 12 noon mass. Burial afterwards in Kilglass new cemetery. House private at all times please.

Christina Tiernan, Dublin 8, Dublin / Drumreilly, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully, in the tender and loving care of the doctors, nurses, and staff of St. James' Hospital, Dublin on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 of Christina Tiernan, St. Patrick's St, Dublin 8, formerly Lower Drumreilly, Co Leitrim. 

Devoted daughter of the late Brigid and Joe, sister of the late Pat, Gerard and Anna and nephew Fran. She will be very sadly missed by her dearly beloved sisters Rose and Patricia, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Rest in peace.

Funeral Mass on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 10am, in the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Whitefriar St., Dublin 2, to St Fintan’s Cemetery, Sutton.

Peter Gilleran, 4 Barrack Court, Barrack Street, Ennis, Clare / Glasson, Co Westmeath

The death occurred in his 81st year peacefully after a long illness bravely borne in the wonderful care of the staff at Milford Care Centre on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 of Peter Gilleran, 4 Barrack Court, Barrack Street, Ennis, County Clare and formerly of Lissoy, Glasson, County Westmeath and Sarasota, Florida.

 Predeceased by his sisters Anne Wall (Ballymaley, Ennis), Bridget Hussey (Canada) infant sisters Elizabeth, Agnes and Margaret and his brothers Joe, Jim and Tom (Lissoy). Will be missed and remembered by his sister Teresa Aylott (London), his nieces and nephews, extended family and friends in Ireland, England, Canada and the USA.

Reposing at Daly’s Mortuary Chapel, Francis Street, Ennis on Friday, November, 14 from 6pm to 7pm. Arriving at the Cathedral, Ennis, on Saturday, November 15 for Requiem Mass at 11am with burial afterwards in Drumcliffe Cemetery. May he rest in peace.
