Mary Bohin (née Dennigan), Lanesboro, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in France on Thursday, October 16, 2025 of Mary Bohin (née Dennigan), formerly of Mahoraveen, Lanesboro, Co Longford. 

Predeceased by her husband Jean-Claude, her parents James and Brigid Dennigan, and her brother John.

Sadly missed by her sons, Marc and Kevin, daughters in law and grandchildren. Her sister, Chris Moran, Colehill, brothers Paddy, Caldramore, Tom, Newtowncashel, Séamus, Offaly, Mike and Willie, Mahora, and their partners. Her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Burial taking place in France on Tuesday, October 21. May Mary rest in peace.

Patrick (Pat) Cahill, Deerpark, Colehill, Longford

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family in Mullingar Regional Hospital on Friday, October 17, 2025 of Patrick (Pat) Cahill, Deerpark, Colehill, Longford. 

Predeceased by his parents John and Bridget, his brothers and sisters Michael, John, Josie, Maisie and his niece Amanda. Patrick will be sadly missed by his family, brother Jimmy, sisters Kathleen Donnelly and Margaret Gilchrist, brother-in-law Tom Donnelly, sisters-in-law Fin and Ann, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and his dear friends especially Patsy Brady and Johnny Murray.

Think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched, For nothing loved is ever lost and he was loved so much. Rest in Peace Pat.

Reposing in St Anne's Church, Ballycloghan, Co Longford on Sunday, October 19 from 5pm with prayers at 7pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Monday, October 20 at 11am. Following Mass, Pat will be laid to rest in the family plot in Abbeyshrule Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Longford Palliative Care c/o Connell Funeral Directors or any family member. House private please. 

Nellie Arkins (née Daly), Pottlebawn, Kilcogy, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 17, 2025 of Nellie Arkins (née Daly), Pottlebawn, Kilcogy, Cavan.

Predeceased by her husband Luke, daughter Rosetta, sisters Peggy, Kitty and brother Janey. Sadly missed by her loving daughters Kathy and Evelyn, sons- in- law Andy Kennedy and Kevin Loftus, grandchildren Amber, Noah, Mia and Kara, sisters Nan Harten, Molly Cooke and brother Jimmie Daly, sister- in- law Carmel nieces, nephews extended family neighbours and a large circle of friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Reilly's Funeral Home Kilcogy (N39W1D6) on Sunday, October 19 from 3pm with prayers at 5pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, October 20 at 1pm in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Mullahoran. Funeral Mass can be viewed live HERE. Internment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. House strictly private please.

Elizabeth (Betty) Dunne (née Doyle), 11 Tycusker, Arva, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully in her 93rd year, in the loving care of the staff at Esker Lodge Nursing Home Cavan on Saturday, October 18, 2025 of Elizabeth (Betty) Dunne (née Doyle), 11 Tycusker, Arva, Cavan and formerly of Corfree, Loch Gowna, Cavan. 

Pre-deceased by her husband Michael, her parents Ernie and Daisy Doyle, her sister Marie and her brother Paurick. Sadly missed by her sister in law Detta, nieces; Yvonne and Deirbhile, nephew Damien, and great aunt to; Dylan, Rachel, Ciara and Roisin RIP

Removal to the Church Of The Holy Family Loch Gowna on Monday, October 20 for requiem mass at 11.30am with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis. 

Maura Wallace (née Mannix), Ballinalee, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully in Princess Louise of Kensington Nursing Home, London on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 of Maura Wallace (nee Mannix), London, late of Ballinalee Co Longford and Dingle Co Kerry.

Reunited with her daughter Thérèse, granddaughter Jennifer, husband John and brother Séamus. Maura passed away Maura is dearly missed by her son John, daughter in law Barbara, sisters Nora Columb and Joan Ginty, sister in law Helen Mannix, good friend Karen Clough and of course the rest of the wider family.

Funeral arrangements: Friday, October 24 at 12pm The chapel, Gunnersbury Cemetery, 143 Gunnersbury Ave, London W3 8LE.

Eileen Josephine Fitzpatrick (née Kane), Booterstown, Dublin / Moyne, Longford / Carnew, Wicklow

The death occurred peacefully at Newbridge Nursing Home, Mullingar on Sunday, October 12, 2025 of Eileen Josephine Fitzpatrick (née Kane), St Helen’s Road, Booterstown, Dublin & London and formerly Fyhora, Moyne, Co Longford.  

Loving wife of the late Kevin, sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest in peace. 

Eileen will be reposing at McCrea’s Funeral Home, Carnew, Co Wicklow (Y14EK24) from 5pm to 7pm on Tuesday, October 28. Removal to St Brigid’s Church Tomacork on Wednesday, October 29 arriving for 2.30pm Funeral Mass followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Sr Winifred Donlon, Manchester, UK & Moydow, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the sisters and staff of St Euphrasia's Convent, Chain road, Manchester on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 of Sr Winifred Donlon, Manchester, UK and Moydow, Co Longford. 

Sr Winifred was pre-deceased by her parents Patrick and Lena Donlon and siblings; Jack, Betty, Tom, Paddy, Mel, Fr James OFM, Charlie and Teresa, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Much loved and deeply regretted by her Good Shepherd sisters, her brother Tony (Oregon USA), nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and extended family. May she rest in peace.

Sr Winifred's Funeral Mass will take place privately in the Church of the Good Shepherd, Chain Road, Manchester on Wednesday, October 22 at 10.15am, followed by private cremation.
