The death occurred unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 of Garda Martin Reilly 24 Loch Eala, Loch Gowna, Cavan and formerly of Smear Hill, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford.

Martin (Dusty),  predeceased by his grandparents Tommy and Rose Reilly and Ned McEvoy, aunts Oonagh McEvoy and Bernie Coffey. Martin will be forever missed and always remembered with love by his heartbroken family, his fiancée and childhood sweetheart Donna (Heslin), his beloved parents Paddy and Maura, sister Linda and her husband Sean, brother Cathal and his partner Gemma, his dear granny Mary McEvoy, his cherished nephew and nieces, Aoibhinn, Aaron, Freya and Isla his god-daughter, uncles, aunts, relatives neighbours, friends and his work colleagues in An Garda Síochána. Also not forgetting his delightful canine friends Charlie & Dash / Prince & Rusty. Loving and kind in all his ways, Upright and good till the end of his days.

Sincere and true in heart and mind. Beautiful memories left behind. Thank you for a lifetime of memories, for your love, kindness, help and encouragement. Forever in our hearts, Rest in Peace Martin.

Reposing on Saturday, August 30 in Connell’s Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford, N39 KN66 from 3pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Removal from his home on Sunday, August 31 to arrive at St. Colmcille’s Church, Aughnacliffe, N39K603, for Funeral Mass at 2pm. Following Mass, Martin will be laid to rest in the family plot in the adjoining cemetery, Family flowers only please. House strictly private please.

Brona Conlon (née O'Brien), 2 Parkside, Ballymahon, Co Longford, N39 AD65 / Carrigallen, Leitrim

The death occurred, peacefully after a brief illness, on Thursday, August 28, 2025 of Brona Conlon (nee O'Brien) 2 Parkside, Ballymahon, Co Longford, N39 AD65 and Carrigallen, Leitrim. 

Predeceased by her father Michael, mother Marion and brother Fergus. Brona will be deeply missed by her husband Arthur, sister Orla, brothers Francis, Fintan, Declan and Damian - Ciara, Aidan and Saoirse - brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours, colleagues and a wide circle of friends. May She Rest in Peace.

Brona will repose at her home, 2 Parkside, Ballymahon, N39 AD65 this Sunday afternoon, August 31 from 3pm until 7pm. Funeral Mass on Monday, September 1 at 11am in St Matthew’s Church, Ballymahon, followed by burial in Shrule Cemetery. Brona's funeral mass may be viewed HERE.

Marian O'Shea (née Moore), No 3 St Mel's View, Longford town, Co Longford

The death occurred suddenly in her sister's home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 of Marian O'Shea (nee Moore), No 3 St Mel's View, Longford town, Co Longford.

Predeceased by her parents and her sisters Anne and Helen. Marion will be sadly missed and always remembered with love by all her family, her adored daughter Michelle and her dad Eddie (deceased), son-in-law John, sisters Deirdre (Dublin) and her twin sister Emily, niece Sherina and nephews Rory and Eddie, relatives and dear friends. Thinking of you Marian is easy, We will do it every day, But missing you will be a heartache, That will never go away. May you Rest in Peace.

Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 30 at 11am in St Mel's Cathedral, Longford. Following Mass, Marian will be laid to rest in the family plot in Ballymacormack Cemetery. John Reilly, Toome, Dring, Co Longford, N39 KW24

The death occurred suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 of John Reilly, (Bus Hire), Toome, Dring, Co. Longford N39 KW24. 

Predeceased by his wife Anne, son Trevor, parents Philip and Mary Agnes, brothers Martin and Colm. John will be very sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter Aisling, son Philip, daughters in law Lisa and Róisín, son in law Colm, brother Philip (Bray), sisters Fran Brady (Dublin), Breege Fox (Arva), Rose Donnelly (Monaghan) and Veronica Treanor (Carrickmacross), grandchildren Martin, Trevor, Jack, Declan, Dylan, Shane, Philip, Niamh, Melissa, Ciaran and Alisha, greatgrandchildren Nada-Leigh, Bonnie and Maisie Rose, sisters in law, brothers in law, nephews, nieces and a large circle of friends. Reposing at his residence on Thursday, August 28 from 3pm until 8.30pm. House private on Friday please. Requiem Mass on Saturday, August 30 at 12 noon with burial immediately afterwards in the local cemetery. Pat Faughnan, Kilnashee, Drumlish, Longford, N39 C862

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his heartbroken family and in the exceptional care of the staff of the Heart & Lung Transplant Unit of the Mater Hospital, Dublin on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 of Pat Faughnan, Kilnashee, Drumlish, Longford, N39 C862. 

Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Margaret. He will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his loving wife Catherine, his adored children David, Stephen and Amy, daughter-in-law Amie, partners Mary and Conal, brothers Charlie and Eugene, sisters Geraldine, Joan, Margaret, Helen and Bridie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, many good friends, neighbours and his beloved dog Bobby.

The death occurred peacefully in the tender care of the staff at Our Lady’s Manor, Edgeworthstown, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 of Rose (Rosie) Sheridan (née Smyth), Abbeyview, Abbeylara, Longford. Predeceased by her beloved husband Joe, brothers Fr Jim, Andy, Tommy, Peter, Paddy, Phil and John.

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his heartbroken family on Monday, August 25, 2025 of Sonny (Michael) Keenan Keelogenasause, Edgeworthstown/ Glenview Lounge, Aughnacliffe Co Longford N39 YV99 Publican and former Funeral Director.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary, son Donal, brothers Desmond (Dessie) and TP, sister Philomena (Phyllis). The death occurred unexpectedly, at her home on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 of Sinead Condron Lisanedan, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford. 

Predeceased by her parents Bridget and Gerry (Buffalo) Condron. Sadly missed by the Condron and Gilchriest families, her uncles, cousins, relatives, friends and her colleagues at the Sacred Heart School, Granard. Rest in peace. 

Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church Street, Longford, on Friday, August 29 from 6.30pm with prayers at 8.30pm. Gerard Beirne, Lisdadnan, Mohill, Co Leitrim

The death occurred suddenly on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 of Gerard Beirne, Lisdadnan, Mohill, Co Leitrim. 

Predeceased by his parents Lena and Terry, and sister Martina Fox. Gerard will be very sadly missed by his brothers Seamus (Ballinamore) Joe (Mohill), sisters Martha, (Carrick-on-Shannon), Mary T (Bornacoola), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family neighbours and friends. The death occurred peacefully in his 90th year at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 of Seamus Kilcrann Cloonfad, Rooskey, Co. Roscommon

Pre-deceased by his parents John Francis and Mary-Kate. Seamus will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his devoted and heartbroken family. Loving wife Kathleen, daughter Nuala (Brian), sons Shane (Nicole), Mícheál (Ciarán), Dermot (Beatrice) and Niall (Aisling), cherished granddaughters Chloe and Caitlin, sister Patsy Padian, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces Audrey, Sandra and Deirdre, relatives, neighbours and his good friends. Dympna Shaughnessy (née Carley), Corbohill, Strokestown, Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully at Portiuncla University Hospital, Ballinasloe, with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 of Dympna Shaughnessy (nee Carley) Corbohill, Strokestown, Roscommon. 

She will be sadly missed by her beloved son Damien, her brother Johnny, sister May, sisters-in-law Bridie, Mary & Evelyn, brothers-in-law Tom & Brendan, adored nieces & nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Dympna is predeceased by her husband Micheál and her parents Michael & Margaret (Ciss). Rest In Peace.

Reposing at McHugh's Funeral Home, Strokestown, on Friday, August 29 from 5.30pm until 7.30pm, followed by Removal to St Mary's Church, Carniska, to arrive for 8pm. The death occurred suddenly in Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe on Monday, August 25, 2025 of George Bigley Kilkenny West, Glasson, Athlone, Co Westmeath.

Predeceased by his loving parents Joe and Daphne and his brother-in-law Graham. Kevin Egan, Strokestown, Roscommon / Leixlip, Kildare

The death occurred peacefully, at St James’ Hospital, Dublin, following a brief illness on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 of Kevin Egan Strokestown, Co Roscommon/ Leixlip, Co Kildare, born November 3, 1944, Strokestown, Co Roscommon.  

Kevin Egan, beloved husband of Rita, cherished father of Colin and Nicole. Lived, in his own words, “all over” - calling Dublin, London, Toronto, Muskoka, and most recently, Leixlip, home throughout his 80+ years. He will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his family, sister June, nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and nephews, extended relatives, and many friends across the globe. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Cunninghams Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, Lucan on Friday, August 29 with family in attendance from 6pm until 8pm. The death occurred very peacefully in University Hospital Galway on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 of Sr. Mercy Ryan St Vincent's Convent of Mercy, Newtownsmith, Galway City, Galway/ Kilbeggan, Westmeath and formerly of St Mary’s Nursing Home Galway, Newtownforbes, Granard, Renmore and St Vincent’s Community Galway.

Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Roseanne Ryan and her brothers William, Paddy and Edward. Will be very sadly missed by her sisters Elizabeth Egan and Anne Rabbitte, brothers Jim and John, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, the Sisters of Mercy St Vincent’s, the Sisters of Mercy Western Branch and her wide circle of friends. May her kind and gentle soul rest in peace.

Sr Mercy Ryan will be reposing in St. Vincent’s Convent, Newtownsmith, Galway (H91 W6X4), on Friday, August 29 from 3pm. Removal at 5pm to The Abbey Church, St Francis Street, Galway (H91 DHA2). Christopher McLoughlin, Lagrangeville, New York and formerly, Drumsna, Co Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 of Christopher McLoughlin Lagrangeville, New York and formerly of Drumsna, Co Leitrim.

Predeceased by his parents Thomas James and Monica, brothers Kevin, Emmet, Brendan, Aloysious and Tommy and sisters Maureen, Kathleen and Monica. Christopher is survived by his loving wife Mary, his children and their spouses Christopher & Kimberly, Kieran & Dana, Peter & Ellha and Sinead & Anthony, his ten adoring grandchildren, his siblings Oliver McLoughlin & Nancy Duignan, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, August 29 at 10am (local time) at St. Denis Cemetery, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction, New York, followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery. Niall Brady, Killadream, Loughduff, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully after an illness borne with dignity and courage on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 of Niall Brady, Harlaxton & Denton, Lincolnshire, England and Killadream, Loughduff, Co Cavan. Recently predeceased by his father Charlie.

Deeply regretted and dearly missed by his beloved children, Ciarán, Ailish and Danny, their mother Lisa, and Ciarán’s fiancée Jo, his mother Detta, his siblings Ann Marie (TP), Fionnuala (Francie), Cathal (Emer), Colm (Róisín) and Shane (Vanda), his nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, his former colleagues in the Kelly Group and his many friends. Suaimhneas síoraí dá anam uasal.

A private family ceremony prior to cremation will take place in Grantham on Monday, August 18, followed by a wake in the Welby Arms, Denton, Grantham, England NG32 1LG at 12:30pm, where all can gather to offer support, remember and celebrate Niall’s life.

Niall’s ashes will be brought to Ireland the following week and will rest at his home in Killadream, Loughduff, Co Cavan (H12C9X7), where all are welcome to meet his family, pay their respects and remember Niall on Friday, August 29 from 4pm to 8pm. Niall’s funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, August 30 at 12 noon in St Joseph’s Church, Loughduff (H12F968) followed by interment of his ashes in the local cemetery. Eileen Sheppard (née Morgan), Bawnboy, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in Javea, Spain on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 of Eileen Sheppard (nee Morgan) Bawnboy, Cavan and Javea, Spain and formerly of Ealing, London.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Keith, her parents John and Eileen, and her brothers James, Richard, and Frank. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her brother Carl Morgan (Kells), her sister Anne McManus (Newtownforbes), the extended Sheppard family, her brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and neighbours. May Eileen Rest in Peace.
