The death occurred peacefully and calmly after a short illness at Roscommon Hospice on Monday, August 4, 2025 of Mary “May” Teresa Mulvihill (nee Murphy) of Rathcline Road, Lanesboro, Co Longford and formerly from Kilteevan, Co Roscommon. 

Pre-deceased by parents Elizabeth and Patrick, brothers Martin, Joe and Eddie and sisters Eileen, Annie May, Delia, Una, Lilly and Ann. May will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family: beloved husband Joe, daughters Elaine, (Leicester) and Annette, (Lewes) and Paul (Sydney), Sons and Daughters in Law, Robert and Suzanne, grandchildren Tom, Fergus, Olivia, Grace, Louie, Daisy, Alice and Billy, great granddaughter Mia, brothers John and Matty, by May's many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Farrell's Funeral Home, Main Street, Lanesboro, Co Longford (N39 E761) on Thursday August 7 between 5pm and 7pm. Mass of the Resurrection in St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Lanesboro at 11am on Friday, August 8 followed by burial at Strokestown Cemetery, Co Roscommon. The Funeral Mass will be streamed live HERE.

Phillip McGarry, Gardentown, Lanesboro, Roscommon / Lanesboro, Longford

The death occurred surrounded by his children and in the tender care of Roscommon Hospice after a full life lived with adventure, quiet dignity, deep wisdom, and a truly genuine heart on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 of Phillip McGarry, Gardentown, Lanesboro, Co Roscommon.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Marie, his parents Maurice and Bella, and brothers Maurice and Samuel. He is loved and will be forever remembered by his devoted children Darren and Tanya, adored grandchildren Conor, Naoise, Sionna, and Fodhla, his daughter-in-law Edel and son-in-law Bill, aunts, cousins, sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbours. Reposing at Smyth's Funeral Home, Roscommon town (F42 NH27) on Thursday, August 7 from 6.30 pm to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. John's Church, Lanesboro (N39 F984) on Friday, August 8 at 11am, with burial to follow in Clonbonny Cemetery. Lawrence (Larry) Donlon, Killowen, Rhode, Offaly / Lanesboro, Longford

The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 of Lawrence (Larry) Donlon, Killowen, Rhode, Offaly and late of Thureen, Lanesboro, Co Longford. Late of ESB. Predeceased by his daughter Jacqueline, parents Katie and Thomas, brother and sisters Olive, Tommy and Margaret. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his family wife Anne, children Mark, Owen, Sandra, Dean, Alan and Lorna, sons-in-law Aidan and Ciarán, daughters-in-law Andrea, Rachel and Bruna, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Mary, P.J., Mattie, Geraldine and Pauline, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May Larry Rest In Peace.

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the doctors, nurses and staff at the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 of Philomena Latimer (nee Shanley), Cloonageeher, Bornacoola, Leitrim/ Longford.

Predeceased by her sisters Madeline and Marion. Beloved wife of Charlie, and dear mother to Pamela, Georgina Moorhead and Raymond, sadly missed by her children, daughter-in-law Kathleen, son-in-law Floyd, grandchildren Simon and Gemma, brothers and sisters; Tommie (Longford), Charlie (Killashandra), Michael (Bornacoola), Addie (Ballinasloe), Ann (Dromod) and Sadie (Mullingar), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, relatives, neighbours, and friends. The death occurred on Thursday, March 13, 2025 of Michael (Mike) O'Shea, Crosshea, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford / Westport, Mayo and late of Lincoln and London UK, Chicago USA. 

Predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret (Peggy), his granddaughter Natalie and his sister Mary. Linda Geoghegan Logan, Main Street, Mohill, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully, following a short battle bravely borne with great courage, surrounded by her loving family and in the excellent care of the staff of Sligo University Hospital on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 of Linda Geoghegan Logan, Main Street Mohill, Co Leitrim and formerly of Aughacashel, Co Leitrim. 

Predeceased by her loving Parents Pearse, Margaret and her infant sister Sinead. Adored wife of Hugh, beloved mother of Séadhna, Aisling and Pearse, and son-in-law Paul, sadly missed by her sister Orla, brother Micheál, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, three cherished granddaughters Éala, Ríona and Ceoladh, much loved cousins, neighbours and friends.

Breege Graham (née Gallogly), 39 Highfield Road, Cavan Town, Cavan / Ballinamore, Co Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of her family and the doctors, nurses and staff at the Lisdarn Unit, Cavan General Hospital on Monday, August 4, 2025 of Breege Graham (nee Gallogly), 39 Highfield Rd, Cavan town and formerly of Drumrane, Ballinamore, Co Leitrim.

Predeceased by her parents Dan and Alice Gallogly, her brothers James and Vincie and her sister in law Anna. Breege will be very sadly missed by her husband Jerry, her sister Mary, brothers Dan and Tony, her sisters in law Monica and Eileen, brother in law Sean, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, great grandniece, her many friends and neighbours especially Philomena and Tom and her former nursing colleagues in St Felim's Hospital, Cavan. Breege will also be missed by all those associated with the Kilmore Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes of which she was an integral part for 46 years. May her kind and gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

Breege will repose at the Mc Mahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan (H12 C821) on Thursday evening, August 7 from 5pm until 7pm. Removal of her remains on Friday morning, August 8 at 10.30am, travelling via her home in Highfield Rd, to the Cathedral of Saints Patrick and Felim, Cavan, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Following Mass a cremation will take place at Lakeland's Crematorium. Burial of ashes at a later date.

Brendan (Joseph) Finglas, Water Lane, Castlepollard, Westmeath

The death occurred peacefully after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 of Brendan (Joseph) Finglas of Water Lane, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath.

Predeceased by his wife Bridget. Brendan will be sadly missed by his loving daughters Patricia and Catherine, brother Peter, sisters Veronica and Kathleen, sons-in-law Séan and John, grandchildren Stephanie, Cíara, Nicole, Conor and Adam, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. Reposing at Shaw's Funeral Home, Mullingar, Co Westmeath on Wednesday, August 6 4pm till 6pm, removal to St Michael's Church, Castlepollard, arriving for 7pm. Funeral mass on Thursday August 7 at 12pm, burial afterwards to St Michael's cemetery. The death occurred peacefully, at St James's Hospital, Dublin, in the loving care of the staff and his family on Monday, August 4, 2025 of Francis (Frank) Devine, Moortown, Castlepollard, Co Westmeath.

 Predeceased by his mother Peggy. Sadly missed by his loving father Pat, brother Paddy (Cavan), sister Helen, sister-in-law Aiveen, brother-in-law Mike, nieces and nephews Grace, Sarah, Seán, Patrick, Billy, Danny and Francis, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends. May Frank Rest In Peace.

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in the excellent care of the staff at St. Vincent's hospital on Sunday, August 3, 2025 of  John (Patrick) Sorohan, Greygates, Mount Merrion and formerly Gortletteragh, Co Leitrim.

Beloved husband of Jennie and loving father to Jean, Fiona, William and Lorraine. Sadly missed by his loving wife, daughters, son, sister Anna, brothers Joe, Mel and Frank, sons-in-law Oliver, Stephen and Antony, daughter-in-law Karen, and cherished grandchildren Sarah, Christopher, Rachel, Kristina, Mia, Alex, Simon and David, extended family, and friends. Niall Brady, Killadream, Loughduff, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully after an illness borne with dignity and courage on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 of Niall Brady, Harlaxton & Denton, Lincolnshire, England and Killadream, Loughduff, Co Cavan. Recently predeceased by his father Charlie.

Deeply regretted and dearly missed by his beloved children, Ciarán, Ailish and Danny, their mother Lisa, and Ciarán’s fiancée Jo, his mother Detta, his siblings Ann Marie (TP), Fionnuala (Francie), Cathal (Emer), Colm (Róisín) and Shane (Vanda), his nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, his former colleagues in the Kelly Group and his many friends. Suaimhneas síoraí dá anam uasal.

A private family ceremony prior to cremation will take place in Grantham on Monday, August 18, followed by a wake in the Welby Arms, Denton, Grantham, England NG32 1LG at 12:30pm, where all can gather to offer support, remember and celebrate Niall’s life.

Niall’s ashes will be brought to Ireland the following week and will rest at his home in Killadream, Loughduff, Co Cavan (H12C9X7), where all are welcome to meet his family, pay their respects and remember Niall on Friday, August 29 from 4pm to 8pm. Niall’s funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, August 30 at 12 noon in St Joseph’s Church, Loughduff (H12F968) followed by interment of his ashes in the local cemetery. Eileen Sheppard (née Morgan), Bawnboy, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in Javea, Spain on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 of Eileen Sheppard (nee Morgan) Bawnboy, Cavan and Javea, Spain and formerly of Ealing, London.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Keith, her parents John and Eileen, and her brothers James, Richard, and Frank. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her brother Carl Morgan (Kells), her sister Anne McManus (Newtownforbes), the extended Sheppard family, her brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and neighbours.
