Aiden Drake, Carrickduff, Granard, Co Longford

The death occurred suddenly at the University Hospital, Limerick on Saturday, July 5, 2025 of Aiden Drake, Carrickduff, Granard, Co Longford.

Predeceased by his mother Nancy. Cherished son of Eamon and treasured brother of Maura and Terry. Aiden will be sadly missed by his loving family, brother-in-law Paul, sister-in-law Áine, nieces Kateri, Annie, Norah and Maisie, nephews Colin and Eamon, aunts, uncles, relatives, friends, neighbours and especially his friends and carers at Hillview House, Fastragh, Aughnacliffe. May He Rest In Peace.

Aiden will repose at Smiths Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Granard (Eircode N39AX97) on Wednesday, July 9 from 4pm to 8pm with the family taking a break between 6pm and 6.30pm. Removal from his home on Thursday morning, July 10 arriving at St Bernard's Church, Abbeylara for Funeral Mass at 12 noon followed by Christian burial in Granardkill New Cemetery. Joseph (Joe) O'Sullivan, Knocklyon, Dublin / Ballinalee, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the care of the wonderful staff at Ryevale Nursing Home, Leixlip on Saturday, July 5, 2025 of Joseph (Joe) O'Sullivan, late of Knocklyon and formerly of Ballinalee, Co. Longford. 

Beloved husband of the late Anne and loving father of Feargal and Eoghan; he will be sadly missed by his loving sons, daughters-in-law Liz and Ciara, neighbours and friends. May He Rest in Peace.

Joe will be reposing at the Larry Massey Funeral Home, Eden Centre, Grange Road, Rathfarnham, D16 VO46, on Wednesday, July 9 from 5pm to 7pm. Removal on Thursday morning, July 10 to St. Colmcille’s Church, Knocklyon, D16 R799, arriving for 11am Mass, followed by burial in Mt. Venus Cemetery, D16 RH50. Richard Webb, Drumcarbin, Ballinagh, Co Cavan

The death occurred peacefully at Cavan General Hospital surrounded by his loving wife and family on Monday, July 7, 2025 of Richard Webb, Drumcarbin, Ballinagh, Co Cavan.

Predeceased by his parents, sister and brother in law in Surrey, UK. Richard is sadly missed by his heart broken wife Anne and children John (Sharon Woods), Clare (Metin Uludag), Fiona (Bernard McPhillips), Catriona (Scott Trayford) and Diane, grandchildren, Alanah, Kilara, Aaron, Elif, Megan, Holly, Liam and Dylan, sister and brother in law Rose and Frank McKiernan, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends. May he Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Rd, Cavan H12 RF78 on Wednesday, July 9 from 6-8pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday, July 10 at 12 noon in St Felim's Church, Ballinagh, followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Rd, Cavan. The family would like to thank all the carers who looked after Richard at home over the last few years. Also to all the staff in Surgical 1, Cavan General Hospital for the care they provided to Richard in the last few days. House private please.

Michael Mulcahy, Roscommon town, Co Roscommon / Lanesboro, Co Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully in the tender care of the management and staff at Sonas Innis Ree Nursing Home, Ballyleague on Saturday, July 5, 2025 of Michael Mulcahy, Lisnamult, Roscommon town and formerly of Cloontuskert, Lanesboro, Co Roscommon. 

Sadly missed by his wife Mary, daughter Jennifer, son Alan, grandchildren Ellie and Jamie, brother Patrick, sisters Nora, Maria and Nuala, son-in-law Richard, brothers-in-law Joe and Seamus, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Michael is predeceased by his parents Pat and Nora, sister Margaret and brother-in-law Stephen. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27) on Tuesday evening, July 8 from 5pm until 6.30pm followed by removal to the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon. Mass of the Resurrection on Wednesday morning, July 9 at 11am followed by private cremation. The Mulcahy family very much appreciates your kindness and support at this time. Fr Michael Morris SPS, Kiltegan, Wicklow / Loch Gowna, Cavan / Ferbane, Offaly

The death occurred peacefully at Tullamore Regional Hospital on Friday, July 4, 2025 of Fr Michael Morris SPS, St Patrick's Missionary Society, Kiltegan, C. Wicklow and formerly of Loch Gowna, Co Cavan, Diocese of Chikwawa, Malawi, Diocese of Mutare, Zimbabea, New Jersey U.S.A. and Ferbane, Co Offaly.

He was predeceased by his parents James and Bridget, brothers, Tony and Peadar, sisters, Mary Buttigieg and Ann Mulligan. He will be sadly missed by his brothers, Brian and Gerry, sisters, Betty Murphy and Breege Connors, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, parishioners of Ferbane Parish, relatives, neighbours, friends and his society family in Kiltegan. Grant Fr. Michael Eternal Rest and Peace.

Fr Michael will repose in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Ferbane on Tuesday, July 8 from 3pm until the celebration of Mass at 5.30pm. Removal afterwards to the Church of the Holy Family, Loch Gowna, Co. Cavan arriving at 8pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 9 at 12 noon, which may be viewed HERE after which, he will be laid to rest in the adjoining Church Grounds. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal.

Dr Anthony Beirne, Derrywillow, Annaduff, Co Leitrim / Cork

The death occurred while on holiday in France on Sunday, June 22, 2025 of Dr Anthony Beirne, Derrywillow, Annaduff, Carrick on Shannon, Co Leitrim and St Luke’s, Cork.

Sadly missed by his wife June, son Francis, parents Billy and Peggy, brother Patrick, sister Bernadette, sister-in-law Sindy, uncle Michael (Tipperary), niece Siobhan, cousins, relatives, neighbours, work colleagues in Cork and friends. May Anthony rest in peace.

Anthony will repose at St Mary’s Church, Annaduff (N41CF54) on Thursday, July 10 from 5pm until 7pm.

Leslie Cocker, Derrinkip, Fenagh, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully atSt Camillus Nursing Home, Killucan on Sunday, July 6, 2025 of Leslie Cocker Derrinkip, Fenagh, Co Leitrim.

Deep gratitude to the wonderful, caring staff at the Nursing Home and prior to this, the staff at Mullingar and Beaumont Hospitals. Predeceased by his wife Margaret. Les will be greatly missed by all who knew him, once met, never forgotten, particularly his close family and good friends. He was widely loved by many.

Reposing at Smith's Funeral Home, High Street, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim (N41TD62) on Tuesday evening, July 8 from 6pm to 8pm. Cremation ceremony at the Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan (H12 RF78) on Wednesday afternoon, July 9 at 3pm. Drinks, snacks, songs and reminiscences to be had in Gerty’s and Taylor McKeown’s, Keshcarrigan, throughout the evening of Wednesday, July 9 - all welcome. House private at all times please.

Anthony ‘Tony’ Brennan, Longford town, Co Longford

The death occurred unexpectedly in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada on Thursday, December 19, 2024 of Anthony ‘Tony’ Patrick John Brennan, Sudbury, Ontario, Canada and formerly of Harbour Row, Longford town, Co Longford.

Predeceased by his parents Winnifred ‘Dolly’ and Francis ‘Dex’ and by his sisters Netta, Laurie and Mary. Tony will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, his beloved wife Rosanne, his cherished children Elizabeth, Eileen, Maureen and John, grandchild Henry, sons-in-law Kevin and Joseph, daughter-in-law Catherine, sisters Vickie and Cathy, brothers Michael, Frankie, John Joe and Davie, sister-in-law Margaret, brother-in-law Tommy, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Cremation has taken place at Park Lawn Crematorium in Sudbury. As Tony asked for his remains to be brought home to Ireland, Mass of the Resurrection will take place on Monday, July 14 at 11am in St Mel’s Cathedral, interment of ashes afterwards in Ballymacormack cemetery.

Eileen Sheppard (née Morgan), Bawnboy, Cavan

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in Javea, Spain on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 of Eileen Sheppard (nee Morgan) Bawnboy, Cavan and Javea, Spain and formerly of Ealing, London.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Keith, her parents John and Eileen, and her brothers James, Richard, and Frank. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her brother Carl Morgan (Kells), her sister Anne McManus (Newtownforbes), the extended Sheppard family, her brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and neighbours. May Eileen Rest in Peace.

Mary Bridget (Bridie) Fisher (née Dooner), Lislea, Kenagh, Co Longford / Roscommon

The death occurred at her home in Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, surrounded by her loving family in her 89th year on Thursday, June 19, 2025 of Mary Bridget (Bridie) Fisher (nee Dooner), formerly of Lislea, Kenagh, Co Longford. 

Predeceased by her parents Paddy and Bridget and her brothers Pat, Tom, Mike, James, John (Séan) and her sister Anne. Devoted wife to Les. Adoring mother to Carol and Gary. Loving sister to Gerry, Much loved mother in-law to Kevin and Sharon. Adored grandmother to Natalie, Rebecca, Shaun, Molly and Niall. Sorely missed by Great grandchildren and extended family, neighbours and friends. Bridie lived a life of love, fun and caring that touched so many people’s lives and we will all miss her deeply. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, July 18 at St Nicholas’s Catholic Church, Winchcombe at 12.30pm. Private burial afterwards at Winchcombe Cemetery. Family flowers only please donations if desired to Dementia UK or Kate’s Home Nursing.

James Joseph 'Seamus' Murtagh, Mitcham, Surrey UK and Correally, Streete, Lismicaffrey, Mullingar, Co Westmeath

The death occurred on Thursday, June 19, 2025, aged 93 years, of James Joseph 'Seamus' Murtagh, Mitcham, Surrey UK and Correally, Streete, Lismicaffrey, Mullingar, Co Westmeath. 

Seamus was from Correally, Streete, Lismicaffrey, Mullingar, Co Westmeath and later in his life in Mitcham, Surrey UK. The funeral service will be held at St Cecilia’s RC Church, Cheam Surrey at 11am on Tuesday, July 22.

Peggy Murphy (née Moore), Westmeath

The death occurred peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, after a hard-fought battle with cancer of Peggy Murphy (née Moore) of Milton Keynes, England, previously of Glenidan, Co. Westmeath.

Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Kathleen Moore of Glenidan and her adored niece Stephanie Joynt. Peggy will be forever loved and dearly missed by her beloved husband Kevin, her sons Ultan, Paul and Ronan, her daughter Catherine. Daughters-in-law Isobel and Adele, son-in-law Chris. Grandchildren Connor, Sofia, Shea, Fleur, Jade, Logan and Saoirse. Brothers Fr Patrick Moore (Castlepollard) and Sean, sisters Nancy, Patricia and Catherine. Brothers-in-law Christy (Rooney), Stephen (Joynt), Michael (Corcoran), Chris (Reilly), sisters-in-law Ann (Moore), Nancy (Murphy) and Ita (Connolly), nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Peggy’s Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 12pm in St Thomas Aquinas Church, Sycamore Ave, Fenny Stratford, Bletchley, Milton Keynes MK2 2JE followed by burial afterwards at 1:45pm in Selbourne Ave., Bletchley Milton Keynes Buckinghamshire MK3 5BX
