Mary Connell, San Diego, California / Ballyboy, Abbeylara, Longford

The death occurred on Monday, June 9, 2025 of Mary Connell, late of San Diego, California and formerly Ballyboy, Abbeylara, Longford.

Predeceased by her parents Michael and Bridget. Her sister Kathleen, brothers Mickie, Johnnie, Edward and Hughie. Mary will be sadly missed by her sisters Brigid (San Diego), Ann (West Sussex), Bernadette (Surrey), Sheila (Leicester), Christina (Dina) (Loughduff) and brother Joe (Longford), sister in law Mary, brothers in law Barry and John, nieces, nephews, large circle of relatives, friends, neighbours. May she rest in peace.

Funeral Mass on Thursday, July 3 at 12 noon in St Bernard's Church, Abbeylara, Co Longford, followed by Christian burial in the adjoining cemetery.

 

James O'Neill, Cloontuskert, Lanesboro, Co Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, after a long illness bravely borne, in the devoted care of the staff of Mullingar Regional Hospital on Friday, June 27, 2025 of James O’Neill Cloontuskert, Lanesboro, Co Roscommon. 

He will be forever missed by his heartbroken family – his daughter Shauna, son TJ, their mother Margaret, his mother Elizabeth, sisters Ann and Carmel, brother Denis, brothers-in-law Paddy and Bernie, Denis’ partner Marion, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and wide circle of friends. James is predeceased by his father Tom and his sister Bridget. May James rest in peace.

Reposing at Smyth’s Funeral Home, Roscommon (F42 NH27) on Monday evening, June 30 from 4.30pm until 6.30pm followed by removal to the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon. Mass of the Resurrection on Tuesday morning, July 1 at 11am which can be viewed HERE, with cremation afterwards in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan, at 2.15pm. The O’Neill family very much appreciates your support at this time. Family flowers only, and house private please.

Noel McDermott, Doon, Strokestown, Co Roscommon

With great sadness and deep appreciation for a long life well lived, the family of Noel McDermott Doon, Strokestown, Co. Roscommon and formerly of Corbo, wish to announce his passing on Saturday, June 28, 2025, peacefully at home in his 93rd year.

Pre-deceased by his beloved wife Ger (Geraldine), his parents Michael & Annie, brother Paddy and sisters Bridie, Kathleen & Pauline (New Jersey). Noel will be sadly missed by his son Martin, daughter in law Marie, granddaughters Eva and Judy, his brother Michael (New Jersey), sister Lily (Mallow), sister in laws Noreen & Hilda, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and his large circle of friends. May He Rest In Peace.

Reposing at his residence Doon, Strokestown, Co Roscommon (F42TY47) on Monday, June 30 from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday, July 1 at 11am in Strokestown Parish Church can be viewed HERE, followed by burial in Strokestown Cemetery.

Movita Munnelly, Drumhallagh, Cloone, Co Leitrim / Tara, Meath

The death occurred suddenly at her residence on Thursday, June 26, 2025 of Movita Munnelly, Drumhallagh, Cloone, Co Leitrim and formerly Rathfeigh, Tara, Co Meath.

Predeceased by her brother Johnny, Movita will be very sadly missed by her loving daughters Lauren & Kasey, son Andrew, father Thomas, mother Mary, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May Movita Rest in Peace.

Reposing at St Joseph’s Chapel of Rest, Old Johnstown, Navan (C15 C425) on Monday, June 30 from 4pm with removal at 6.15pm arriving at The Church of the Immaculate Conception Rathfeigh for evening prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning, July 1 at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Mary Bridget (Bridie) Fisher (née Dooner), Lislea, Kenagh, Co Longford / Roscommon

The death occurred at her home in Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, surrounded by her loving family in her 89th year on Thursday, June 19, 2025 of Mary Bridget (Bridie) Fisher (nee Dooner), formerly of Lislea, Kenagh, Co Longford. 

Predeceased by her parents Paddy and Bridget and her brothers Pat, Tom, Mike, James, John (Séan) and her sister Anne. Devoted wife to Les. Adoring mother to Carol and Gary. Loving sister to Gerry, Much loved mother in-law to Kevin and Sharon. Adored grandmother to Natalie, Rebecca, Shaun, Molly and Niall. Sorely missed by Great grandchildren and extended family, neighbours and friends. Bridie lived a life of love, fun and caring that touched so many people’s lives and we will all miss her deeply. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

A funeral service will take place on Friday, July 18 at St Nicholas’s Catholic Church, Winchcombe at 12.30pm. Private burial afterwards at Winchcombe Cemetery. Family flowers only please donations if desired to Dementia UK or Kate’s Home Nursing.

John Connolly, Cabra, Dublin / Drumreilly, Co Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the tender care of the staff in the Mater Hospital on Thursday, June 26, 2025 of John Connolly, late of Annamoe Drive, Cabra, Dublin and formerly Drumreilly, Co Leitrim. 

Predeceased by his beloved wife Bernadette. John will be very sadly missed and remembered always by his loving daughter Fiona, sister Mai, brothers James and Pat, sisters-in-law Mary and Chris, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. May John’s gentle soul Rest in Peace.

Reposing in Massey Bros. Funeral Home, 88A New Cabra Road, Cabra, D07 ET92 on Wednesday, July 2 from 5pm - 7pm. Removal on Thursday morning, July 3 to Christ the King Church, arriving at 9:50am for Requiem Mass at 10am, followed by a Private Cremation Service for family only.
