The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the loving care of the nurses and staff of the Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 of Lucy Newman (nee Halion), Kenagh, Co Longford.

Predeceased by her husband Pat and her brother Paddy. Deeply regretted by her son Paul, her daughter Hilda, their partners Caroline and Dennis, her grandchildren Peter, Emma,Finn and Conor, her sister-in-law Kathleen (Cooney) nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, neighbours and especially her carers. Rest in Peace.

Reposing in St Dominic's Church Kenagh on Thursday evening, June 5 from 5pm until 7pm followed by prayers. Funeral Mass on Friday, June 6 at 11am followed by burial in Ballymacormack cemetery.

Patrick (Paddy) O'Connor, Kilsallagh, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the care of the staff of Mullingar Regional Hospital and in the presence of his loving family on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 of Patrick (Paddy) O'Connor Kilsallagh, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford.

Predeceased by his parents Anthony and Kathleen, his brother Anthony, his sister Mary, his sister-in-law Mary and brother-in-law Gerry. Paddy will be sadly missed by his brother Peter and sister Lena. Nephews Peter and Tony nieces Linda, Lorraine, Edel, Charlene. Brother-in-law Pat, Grand nephews, Grand nieces. His dear friend Kate. Anne Murray (née Lynch), Main Street, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the tender care of the staff of Our Lady's Manor Nursing Home, Edgeworthstown on Monday, June 2, 2025 of Anne Murray (nee Lynch), Main Street, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford and formerly of The Mostrim Arms.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Eamon, parents Seán F and Anna (nee Brady), brothers Mick, Brian and Sean, sisters Peggie and Maura. Anne will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her sisters Kathy and Ita, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, neighbours and her wide circle of friends. May her Gentle Soul Rest in Eternal Peace.

Reposing in Our Lady's Manor Nursing Home Chapel N39 VR04 on Friday, June 6 from 9.30am until 10.30am, followed with Funeral Mass at 11am. Following Mass, Anne will be laid to rest in the family plot in Carrickedmond Cemetery.

Nancy Rooney (née Goodwin), Aughadegnan, Longford town, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully after a long and happy life in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, following a brief illness on Monday, June 2, 2025 of Nancy Rooney (nee Goodwin), Aughadegnan, Longford town.

Pre-deceased by her parents Alec and Annie and by her brother Tom. Nancy will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, her heartbroken husband and best friend Joe, her son Peter, daughters Majella and Lorraine Murtagh, daughter-in-law Anne, son-in-law James, sisters Marie and Pauline, brothers Alec, Noel and Peter, grandchildren Brian, Aisling, Dearbháile, Gary, Clodagh, Gráinne and Aidan, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Laurel Lodge Nursing Home Chapel (N39 XE92) on Tuesday, June 3 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Wednesday, June 4 at 11am in St. Mel’s Cathedral, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack cemetery. The Funeral Mass will be streamed live HERE.

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Roscommon Hospital on Sunday, June 1, 2025 of John Feeney, Slieve, Clondra, Co. Longford.

Predeceased by his parents Tom and Margaret, sisters Molly, Nora O’Reilly and Angela Gannon and by his brothers Pat and Seamus. John will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, sister Rita Casey, brother Tom, sister-in-law Winifred, brother-in-law Frank, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Thursday, June 5 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, June 6 in St Brendan’s Church, Clondra at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care John received from all the nurses and staff of Innis Ree Nursing Home, Ballyleague.

Jimmy Harper, Ferskill, Granard, Longford, N39 E195

The death occurred suddenly in the wonderful care of the staff of Mullingar Regional Hospital surrounded by his heartbroken family on Friday, May 30, 2025 of Jimmy Harper, Ferskill, Granard, Longford, N39 E195 and formerly of Dundalk. 

Predeceased by his parents Freddy and Mary. Jimmy will be sadly missed by his family, his wife and best friend Julie, sons Mark and Jimmy, daughters Ann-Marie, Julie-Chell, Santanna, Selena and Holly, sons-in-law Tommy, Richie, Simie, Willie and Tony, daughters-in-law Bernie and Donna, his beloved 37 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, brothers PJ and Jerry, sisters Ann and Joan, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

The death occurred peacefully after a short illness surrounded by his family, cared for by the wonderful staff at Cavan General Hospital on Monday, June 2, 2025 of James ‘Jim’ O'Reilly, Owengallies Bawnboy, Cavan (May 5, 1934 - June 2, 2025).

Beloved husband of Jane Anne (nee Dolan), devoted father to Eugene (Niamh) and Liam (Erica) and loving Grandfather to Baby Luke. Pre-Deceased by his parents and brothers Hugh, Tom and Sonny. Sorely missed by his brothers Oliver (Belturbet) and Kevin (Kinlough) sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and his many friends and neighbours. Rest in Peace.

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Monaghan General Hospital, in the excellent care of the staff in Willowbridge Ward on Sunday, June 1, 2025 of Patrick (Paddy) Maguire, Ashbrooke, Moynehall, Cavan and formerly Mullahoran and Drumlark, Cavan.

Paddy will be very sadly missed by his loving wife and best friend Orla, his children Patrick (Sharon), Maria and Oisín, his adored grandchildren Siobhan and Aaron (Chandler) and great grandchildren Braxton, Liam and Cillian, his brothers, sisters, father in law, mother in law, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, cousins, all his extended family, good neighbours and many friends. John Caulfield, Longford

The death occurred in London, England aged 90 on Saturday, April 26, 2025 of John Caulfield, native of County Longford.A great Gaelic footballer he played for Colmcille in the 50’s and 60’s as well as for the County team and played for Erin’s Hope and St Vincent’s in London and had strong connections with the Round Towers.

His funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, June 4 at the Holy Ghost Church, Nightingale Lane Balham at 10.30 with Funeral afterwards at Morden Cemetery. Please pray for his soul.

Patricia Peters (née Dooner), Rooskey, Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully  in the presence of her loving family after an unexpected short illness, under the excellent care of the ICU staff at King’s College Hospital London on Friday, April 18, 2025 of Patricia Peters (née Dooner), Sevenoaks, Kent, UK and formerly Rooskey, Roscommon. 

Beloved wife of Alan and dear mother of Michelle and Chris, step-mother to David, sister to Seamus Dooner and cherished nana to Oliver, Daniel and Emily. Pat will also be sadly missed by her daughter-in-law and son-in-law and her dear cousins and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. May Pat rest in peace.
