The death occurred peacefully in the tender care of the staff of Our Lady's Manor Nursing Home, Edgeworthstown on Monday, June 2, 2025 of Anne Murray (nee Lynch), Main Street, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford and formerly of The Mostrim Arms.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Eamon, parents Seán F and Anna (nee Brady), brothers Mick, Brian and Sean, sisters Peggie and Maura. Anne will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her sisters Kathy and Ita, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, extended family, neighbours and her wide circle of friends. May her Gentle Soul Rest in Eternal Peace.

Reposing in Our Lady's Manor Nursing Home Chapel N39 VR04 on Friday, June 6 from 9.30am until 10.30am, followed with Funeral Mass at 11am. Following Mass, Anne will be laid to rest in the family plot in Carrickedmond Cemetery.

Nancy Rooney (née Goodwin), Aughadegnan, Longford town, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully after a long and happy life in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, following a brief illness on Monday, June 2, 2025 of Nancy Rooney (nee Goodwin), Aughadegnan, Longford town.

Pre-deceased by her parents Alec and Annie and by her brother Tom. Nancy will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, her heartbroken husband and best friend Joe, her son Peter, daughters Majella and Lorraine Murtagh, daughter-in-law Anne, son-in-law James, sisters Marie and Pauline, brothers Alec, Noel and Peter, grandchildren Brian, Aisling, Dearbháile, Gary, Clodagh, Gráinne and Aidan, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Reposing at Laurel Lodge Nursing Home Chapel (N39 XE92) on Tuesday, June 3 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Wednesday, June 4 at 11am in St. Mel’s Cathedral, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack cemetery. The Funeral Mass will be streamed live HERE.

The death occurred peacefully at home with her loving family by her side on Saturday, May 31, 2025 of Margaret (Maggie) Small (nee Dunne), 28 Colmcille Terrace, Granard, Co Longford and formerly of Ballinagh, Co Cavan.

Predeceased by her daughter Chrystal. Maggie will be sadly missed by her loving husband Christy, sons Christopher, Kevin, Jason, Anthony and Wayne, daughters Aishling and Vanessa, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and a wide circle of friends. Maggie will repose at her home on Monday, June 2 from 3pm to 7pm. The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Roscommon Hospital on Sunday, June 1, 2025 of John Feeney, Slieve, Clondra, Co. Longford.

Predeceased by his parents Tom and Margaret, sisters Molly, Nora O’Reilly and Angela Gannon and by his brothers Pat and Seamus. John will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his family, sister Rita Casey, brother Tom, sister-in-law Winifred, brother-in-law Frank, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Thursday, June 5 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, June 6 in St Brendan’s Church, Clondra at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a short illness bravely borne under the wonderful care of the medical staff in the Hermitage Clinic, Lucan on Saturday, May 31, 2025 of Christopher (Christy) Maye, Lake Lodge, Cullionmore, Mullingar, Westmeath, N91HK28 and formerly Cloncallow, Ballymahon, Longford.

The death occurred suddenly in the wonderful care of the staff of Mullingar Regional Hospital surrounded by his heartbroken family on Friday, May 30, 2025 of Jimmy Harper, Ferskill, Granard, Longford, N39 E195 and formerly of Dundalk. 

Predeceased by his parents Freddy and Mary. Jimmy will be sadly missed by his family, his wife and best friend Julie, sons Mark and Jimmy, daughters Ann-Marie, Julie-Chell, Santanna, Selena and Holly, sons-in-law Tommy, Richie, Simie, Willie and Tony, daughters-in-law Bernie and Donna, his beloved 37 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, brothers PJ and Jerry, sisters Ann and Joan, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Beloved husband of Jane Anne (nee Dolan), devoted father to Eugene (Niamh) and Liam (Erica) and loving Grandfather to Baby Luke. Pre-Deceased by his parents and brothers Hugh, Tom and Sonny. The death occurred peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Monaghan General Hospital, in the excellent care of the staff in Willowbridge Ward on Sunday, June 1, 2025 of Patrick (Paddy) Maguire, Ashbrooke, Moynehall, Cavan and formerly Mullahoran and Drumlark, Cavan.

The death occurred peacefully in his 100th year at Esker Lodge Nursing Home Cavan on Saturday, May 31, 2025 of David Slater, Lisgrey, Virginia, Co Cavan and formerly England.

Predeceased by his wife Florence and his son Nigel. Sadly missed by his daughters Pauline and Suzanne, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.

John Caulfield, Longford

The death occurred in London, England aged 90 on Saturday, April 26, 2025 of John Caulfield, native of County Longford.A great Gaelic footballer he played for Colmcille in the 50’s and 60’s as well as for the County team and played for Erin’s Hope and St Vincent’s in London and had strong connections with the Round Towers.

His funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, June 4 at the Holy Ghost Church, Nightingale Lane Balham at 10.30 with Funeral afterwards at Morden Cemetery. Please pray for his soul.

Patricia Peters (née Dooner), Rooskey, Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully  in the presence of her loving family after an unexpected short illness, under the excellent care of the ICU staff at King’s College Hospital London on Friday, April 18, 2025 of Patricia Peters (née Dooner), Sevenoaks, Kent, UK and formerly Rooskey, Roscommon. 

Beloved wife of Alan and dear mother of Michelle and Chris, step-mother to David, sister to Seamus Dooner and cherished nana to Oliver, Daniel and Emily. Pat will also be sadly missed by her daughter-in-law and son-in-law and her dear cousins and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. May Pat rest in peace.
