The death occurred unexpectedly following a short illness in James’s Hospital, Dublin surrounded by his heartbroken family on Friday, May 23, 2025 of Alan (Hardchaw) O'Hara, 67 Devine Crescent, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford.

Alan will be forever missed and always remembered with love by his family, his beloved parents John and Mary, his loving partner Ariel, sisters Aisling, Alison, Rachel and Rebecca, brothers-in-law Brendan, Paul, Matthew and Peter, his adored nieces Leah, Lucy, Madison, Zoey and Millie, uncles, aunt, gran-uncle, relatives, neighbours and his many dear friends, especially his GAA family. Your life touched so many others and will be remembered forever more. To leave the world a better place than it had been before. Rest in Peace Alan.

Reposing in St. Mary's Church, Edgeworthstown (N39 E628) on Wednesday, May 28 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Removal from his sister and brother-in-law Alison and Brendan’s home (46 Devine Crescent) on Thursday, May 29 to arrive at St Mary’s Church, Edgeworthstown for Funeral Mass at 1pm. The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Laurel Lodge Nursing Home on Sunday, May 25, 2025 of Marie Galligan, St.Michael’s Road, Longford town. 

Pre-deceased by her parents James and Bridget and by her sister Sadie. Marie will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her relatives, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.

Anne Belton, Terenure, Dublin / Curry, Longford

The death occurred unexpectedly after a brief illness on Sunday, May 25, 2025 of Anne Belton,  late of Terenure, Dublin, and formerly of Curry, Athlone Road, Longford.

Anne will be forever missed by her loving sisters Una (McGrane), Jean (Higgins), Evelyn (McKeon) and Eileen (Donlon), brothers-in-law Willie, Kevin, Tom and Raymond, her nieces and nephews John (Claire), Emer, Paul (Jess), Tara, Darren (Nisreen), Shane, Ciara, and Amy, and all her extended family, neighbours and wide circle of friends. Predeceased by his parents Tom and Delia, brothers Patsy and Willie. Sadly missed by his loving wife Maureen, children Breda (Stephen), Oliver (Liz), P. J. The death occurred peacefully at Beckett Nursing Home in Newport Pagnell UK on Monday, April 28, 2025 of James (Jimmy) Irwin, formerly of Brittas, Glasson Westmeath and residing in the UK.

Jimmy was predeceased by his wife Annette. He will be sadly missed by his sons Ralph and Andrew, daughter-in-law Jane, grandson Ashley, sister Bridie, brother Joe, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

John Caulfield, Longford

The death occurred in London, England aged 90 on Saturday, April 26, 2025 of John Caulfield, native of County Longford.A great Gaelic footballer he played for Colmcille in the 50’s and 60’s as well as for the County team and played for Erin’s Hope and St Vincent’s in London and had strong connections with the Round Towers.

His funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, June 4 at the Holy Ghost Church, Nightingale Lane Balham at 10.30 with Funeral afterwards at Morden Cemetery. Please pray for his soul.

Patricia Peters (née Dooner), Rooskey, Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully  in the presence of her loving family after an unexpected short illness, under the excellent care of the ICU staff at King’s College Hospital London on Friday, April 18, 2025 of Patricia Peters (née Dooner), Sevenoaks, Kent, UK and formerly Rooskey, Roscommon. 

Beloved wife of Alan and dear mother of Michelle and Chris, step-mother to David, sister to Seamus Dooner and cherished nana to Oliver, Daniel and Emily. Pat will also be sadly missed by her daughter-in-law and son-in-law and her dear cousins and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. May Pat rest in peace.
