The death occurred peacefully, at Thomond Lodge Nursing Home, Ballymahon on Friday, May 23 of Danny Casey, Meelick, Kenagh, Longford. Predeceased by his wife Marie. Sadly missed by his son Shane and his daughters Jacinta, Lupita, Petrina, Dana and Georgina, his sister Maureen and partner Ann Dowdall, grandchildren Colin, Ciara, Maria, Stephen, Louise, Liam, Orla, Tyrone, Aoife, Daniel, Lily, Daniel, John, Gary and Michaela, daughter-in-law Emer, sons-in-law Noel Farrell, P.J. Duffy, Rick Clarke, John Rowe and Michael Hand, brother-in-law Brian, nieces Fiona and Anne, cousins, neighbours, relatives and friends. Rest in peace.

Reposing in St Dominic's Church, Kenagh, on Tuesday, May 27 from 5pm with Prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, May 28 at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Moydow cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations if desired to Longford Hospice Homecare care of Paschal Lyons, Funeral Director, Ardagh, or any family member. House private to family, neighbours and friends.

Christine Huseyin (née Connor), Longford Town, Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Laurel Lodge on Friday, May 23 of Christine Huseyin (née Connor), Longford Town, Longford and formerly of Ardnacassa, Dublin Road, Longford. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Annie , husband Tony , sisters Anne and Mira and by her brothers Tony and Packie. Christine will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, sister Jo Jo Gannon (Longford), nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Mass of the Resurrection on Thursday, May 29 in Laurel Lodge Nursing Home Chapel (N39 XE92) at 11am, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack cemetery. Family flowers only please donations if desired to The Patient Comfort Fund at Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, c/o Glennon Funeral Directors or any family member.

Dympna Gill (née Davis), Foynescourt, Longford Town, Longford

The death occurred peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 of Dympna Gill (née Davis), Foynescourt, Longford Town, Longford. Predeceased by her husband Brendan, brothers Philip, Aidan and Kevin and by her sisters Maura McCann and Angela Davis.

Dympna will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family daughters Aideen Laverty (Sligo), Clodagh Hewins (U.K), Nessa Clarke (Granard) and Finola Quinn (Edgeworthstown), sisters Cáitlín Russell (U.S.A.) and Ita Donlon (Longford), sons-in-law Eddie, Simon, Aoghan and Patrick, her seven grandchildren Andrew, Eleanor, Amelia, Conor, Harry, Joseph and Thomas, sisters-in-law Christine and Vera, brother-in-law Jim, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Sunday, May 25 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Monday, May 26 at 11am in St Mel’s Cathedral, interment afterwards in Ballymacormack Cemetery. Des Guckian Derrywillow, Annaduff, Co Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully, at the North West Hospice Sligo on Thursday, May 22, 2025 of Des Guckian (former Leitrim County Councillor and Retired Teacher of St. Mel's College, Longford) of Derrywillow, Annaduff, Co Leitrim.

Predeceased by his wife; Myra, brothers; Padraig and Seamus. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his children; Irene, Paul, Emer, Deirdre and Brendan, his sister; Ita Curran, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, sisters-in-law, nine grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, work colleagues, constituents, neighbours and friends. May Des Rest In Peace.

Des will lie in repose at St Mary’s Church, Annaduff on Sunday, May 25 from 3.30pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. There will be a 15 minute break at 5.30pm. Mass of the Resurrection in St Mary’s Church, Annaduff on Monday, May 26 at 12 noon followed by burial to the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to the North West Hospice Sligo c/o McKeon’s Funeral Director’s Cloone or any family member.

Gerry Murphy, Boeshill, Mohill, Leitrim

The death occurred peacefully following a short illness, surrounded by his family, looked after by the wonderful team in Sligo University Hospital on Friday, May 23, 2025 of Gerry Murphy, Boeshill, Mohill, Leitrim. Predeceased by his Mother Elizabeth and father Patrick, brothers Willie, Packie, Ben, Andrew & Tommy, sisters Lena, Moira, Theresa, Lily & Eithne.

Gerry will be deeply missed by his sister Bridie, all his nieces and nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and a large circle of family and friends. May Gerry rest in Peace.

Reposing at St Georges Heritage centre, Carrick-on- Shannon (N41KP62) on Sunday, May 25 from 5pm to 6.30pm. Barry Taylor, Aughavas, Leitrim

The death occurred at Heywood, United Kingdom on Monday, May 5, 2025 of Barry Taylor Aughavas, Co Leitrim.

Predeceased by his wife Kathleen (Katie) Taylor. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his son Steven, daughter Anne Marie, daughter-in-law Natasha, son-in-law Richard, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, neighbours and friends. May Barry Rest In Peace.

Reposing at Smiths Funeral Home, High Street, Ballinamore (Eircode N41 TD62) on Saturday, May 24 from 6pm to 7.30pm. Barry's remains will arrive at St Joseph's Church, Aughavas on Sunday, May 25 for Funeral Mass at 11.30am. Bernadette (Bernie) Murray (née Carthy), Gallowstown, Roscommon town, Co Roscommon, F42NX30 / Trim, Meath and formerly of Strokestown, Co Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff of Roscommon Hospice, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, May 22, 2025 of Bernadette (Bernie) Murray (nee Carthy) Gallowstown, Roscommon town, Co Roscommon,  F42NX30/ Trim, Meath and formerly of Strokestown, Co Roscommon.

Pre-deceased by her husband Johnny, her son-in-law Colin, her parents Brian & Susan, her sisters Bridget, Rosie & Pattie, her brother Timothy, brother-in-law Paul, Uncle Michael and Auntie Mary. Cherished and much loved Mum of Suzanne & John. Adored Nanny to Ryan, Gary & Shauna. Bernie will be sadly missed by her heartbroken family, sisters Margaret & Mary, brothers Seamus, Matt, Brian, Gerard & Eamon, nephews, nieces, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, relatives and her many friends. Reposing at her residence in Gallowstown on Sunday, May 25 from 4pm until 7pm. Removal on Monday, May 26 to St. Mary's Church, Carniska, to arrive for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. James (Jimmy) Irwin, Brittas, Glasson, Westmeath

The death occurred peacefully at Beckett Nursing Home in Newport Pagnell UK on Monday, April 28, 2025 of James (Jimmy) Irwin, formerly of Brittas, Glasson Westmeath and residing in the UK.

Jimmy was predeceased by his wife Annette. He will be sadly missed by his sons Ralph and Andrew, daughter-in-law Jane, grandson Ashley, sister Bridie, brother Joe, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

The funeral will take place on Thursday, May 29 at 12.30pm, at St Peter and St Paul’s Church, Newport Pagnell, followed by burial for family members only. Family flowers only but donations can be made via www.hwmason.co.uk (funeral directors) to Alzheimer’s UK.

Elizabeth O'Reilly (née McNaboe), North West London and formerly of Rosduff, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford

It is with deep sadness in our hearts that we announce the death of Elizabeth O’Reilly (nee McNaboe) formerly of Rosduff, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford, now North West London, at home on Thursday, May 1, 2025. In Loving Memory. 

Predeceased by her husband Johnny. She will be sadly missed by her brother John Pat, children Marie, Ann, Michael and Susan, sons- in-law, daughter in-law, grandchildren, great granddaughter, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

John Caulfield, Longford

The death occurred in London, England aged 90 on Saturday, April 26, 2025 of John Caulfield, native of County Longford.A great Gaelic footballer he played for Colmcille in the 50’s and 60’s as well as for the County team and played for Erin’s Hope and St Vincent’s in London and had strong connections with the Round Towers.

His funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, June 4 at the Holy Ghost Church, Nightingale Lane Balham at 10.30 with Funeral afterwards at Morden Cemetery. Please pray for his soul.

Patricia Peters (née Dooner), Rooskey, Roscommon

The death occurred peacefully  in the presence of her loving family after an unexpected short illness, under the excellent care of the ICU staff at King’s College Hospital London on Friday, April 18, 2025 of Patricia Peters (née Dooner), Sevenoaks, Kent, UK and formerly Rooskey, Roscommon. 

Beloved wife of Alan and dear mother of Michelle and Chris, step-mother to David, sister to Seamus Dooner and cherished nana to Oliver, Daniel and Emily. Pat will also be sadly missed by her daughter-in-law and son-in-law and her dear cousins and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. May Pat rest in peace.

Funeral Mass will take place at St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Church, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN13 1ER, on June 5 at 2pm (live-stream available).
