Rosemarie (Rose) Conefrey (née Tivnan), Edgeworthstown, Co Longford / Boyle, Roscommon / Dunboyne, Meath

The death occurred peacefully at Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, Longford surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 of Rosemarie (Rose) Conefrey (née Tivnan), Main Street, Edgeworthstown, Co Longford and formerly of Corr na Míolta, Boyle, Co Roscommon.

Predeceased by her daughter Ciara and her parents Patrick and Annie. May Rose Rest in Peace. Rose will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, her husband Mel, sons Alan and Ronan, daughters in law; Jennifer and Anne-Marie, grandchildren Josh, Sarah, Erin, Darragh, Aoife and Faye her sisters Margaret Coughlan, Rita Reynolds and Genevieve Barden her brothers Austin, Paddy, Frank, Matthew and Gerard, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Rose will repose at the residence of her son Ronan and daughter-in-law Anne-Marie at Ballytoohey, Tarmonbarry, Co. Roscommon (Eircode N39 CK88) on Thursday, April 24 from 3pm – 9pm. Funeral to arrive at St Mary's Church, Edgeworthstown on Friday, April 25 for Mass of the Resurrection at 12 noon followed by burial to Aughafin Cemetery.

Patrick Breslin, 10 Robinson Road, Newhall, Dervyshire, England / Esker, Ballinalee, Longford

The death occurred peacefully on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 of Patrick Breslin, 10 Robinstown Road, Newhall, Dervyshire, England/ Esker, Ballinalee, Co Longford. 

Predeceased by his beloved parents Alice and William, his brothers Bill and Danny. Paddy will be sadly missed by his children Paul and Alison, grandson Thomas, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends here in Ireland and in England. Always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts. Rest in Peace.

Reposing in Connell's Funeral Home, Church St, Longford, N39 KN66 on Thursday, April 24 from 6pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Friday, April 25 at 11am in St Mary's Church, Ennybegs, N39 AH0. Following Mass, Paddy will be laid to rest in the family plot in Aughaboy Cemetery. Mass can be viewed live HERE.

Sr Lelia (Céline) Newman, Cabra, Dublin / Kenagh, Co Longford

The death occurred  in the loving care of the staff and Dominican Community at Santa Sabina House, Cabra, Dublin, on Saturday, April 19, 2025 of Sr Lelia (Celine) Newman, Cabra, Dublin and formerly of Dominican Convent, Falls Road, Belfast BT126AD, and of Kenagh, Co Longford. 

Much loved and deeply regretted by her Dominican sisters, her sister Kathleen Cooney, nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, great-grand niece, sister-in-law Lucy, cousin Philomena Fyffe and family circle. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Peter and Bridie Newman, and siblings, Sr. Philomena, R.S.M., Patrick, Nuala, Fr. Denis S.P.S., Fr. Peter, C.S.Sp., and brother-in-law Michael Cooney.

Her Requiem Mass will take place on Thursday, April 24 at 10am in the Dominican Church, Cabra Campus, Dublin D07 Y2E7, (https://www.churchservices.tv/cabradominican), followed by burial in the adjacent cemetery. May Sr Lelia rest in peace and rise in glory.

Maggie Ellen Rudden (née Murphy), Fostra, Aughnacliffe, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her family in the loving care of the nurses and staff of the Midlands Regional Hospital, Mullingar on Monday, April 21, 2025 of Maggie Ellen Rudden (nee Murphy), Fostra, Aughnacliffe and formerly of Aughamore Lower, Aughnacliffe, Co. Longford. 

Pre-deceased by her beloved husband Packie Joe, brothers John, Joe, Mattie, Colm, James and Tommy, niece Anne and by her parents John and Mary Ann. Maggie Ellen will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her family, daughters Mary McKeeney (Leitrim Village), Margaret Mulcahy (Melview), Lil McNerney (Annagh) and Sinead Kerwin (New Orleans), son Patrick (Ballyconnell), daughter-in-law Paula, sons-in-law John, Michael, Marty and Mike, grandchildren Hugh, Sinéad, Enya, Muireann, Béibhinn, Michéal, Kate, Ross, Jane, Karl, Evan, Finbar, Madeleine, Anna and Emily, great-grandchildren Lucy, Bobby, Oran and Daithi, nieces, nephews, relatives, carers, staff of Laurel Lodge, neighbours and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Wednesday, April 23 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Mass of the Resurrection in St. Colmcille’s Church, Aughnacliffe on Thursday, April 24 at 11.00am, interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please donations if desired to Longford Hospice, c/o Glennon Funeral Directors or any family member.

Irene May McWade (née Smith), Lisduff, Longford town, Co Longford

The death has occurred peacefully in the Regional Hospital Mullingar with her son David by her bedside on Sunday, April 20, 2025 of Irene May McWade (nee Smith) Lisduff, Longford town, Co Longford.

Predeceased by her husband Sean and parents Eddie and Sarah. Deeply regretted by her beloved sons David and Kevin, sisters Megan and Margaret (Wales), nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May Irene Rest in Peace.

Irene will repose in her residence (N39 K5R7) on Tuesday, April 22 from 5pm concluding with prayers at 8pm. Removal from her home for funeral mass on Wednesday, April 23 arriving to St Mel's Cathedral for 11am. Funeral mass can be streamed live by clicking on the following link. Following funeral mass Irene will be laid to rest in Drumlish Cemetery.

Cyril O'Dowd, Clonroad, Ennis, Clare / Lanesboro, Co Longford

The death occurred peacefully in the loving care of the staff in Milford Hospice surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 20, 2025 of Cyril O'Dowd, Clonroad, Ennis, Co Clare & formerly of Lanesboro, Co Longford. 

Predeceased by his daughter Emer, brother Brendan & sister Marie Sadly missed by his loving wife Helena, son Fergal, daughter-in-law Cathy, grandsons Dara, Ross & Hugh, brothers Kieran & Noel, sisters Doreen & Olive (Australia), nieces, nephews, relatives, friends & neighbours. May He Rest In Peace.

Reposing in Daly's Mortuary Chapel, Francis St., Ennis on Wednesday evening, April 23 from 6 to 7pm. Arriving for Funeral Mass in the Ennis Cathedral on Thursday, April 24 at 11am with burial after in Drumcliffe Cemetery.

The death occurred on Monday, April 21, 2025 of Kathleen Donlon (née McGovern), Derryglen, Carrickaboy, Co Cavan and formerly Toome, Dring, Co Longford.

Predeceased by her husband Bryan, parents Michael and Anna, brothers Micheal and Seamus, sister Maura, niece Kellie-Marie. Deeply regretted by her loving family, Annamarie McGaughran (Sean), Bernie Geraghty (Brian), Grainne Kelly (Liam), Derek (Edel), Chelle Marley (Aidan), Ray (Liz), Darren (Denise), grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her best friend Michael Bernard. The death occurred at her home, in the loving care of her son David on Monday, April 21, 2025 of Florence (Florrie) Kinkade (nee McElroy), Cornagran, Loch Gowna, Co. Cavan H12W3Y2.

Predeceased by her husband Harry. Sadly missed by her son David, her daughter Anita and her sister Dorothy. Deeply regretted by her many friends and neighbours. 

Florrie will repose at Lakelands Funeral Home (H12RF78) on Tuesday evening, April 22 from 7pm to 8.30pm with Removal from her home (H12W3Y2) on Wednesday, April 23 to the Church Of Ireland, Loch Gowna (H12HR22) for Funeral Service at 2pm. Sr Teresa Moran, Drumkeelanbeg, Drumshanbo, Leitrim

The death occurred in her 92nd year on Thursday, March 27, 2025 of Sr Teresa Moran (Marist Sisters) formerly of Dumkeelanbeg, Drumshanbo, Co Leitrim and Villa Maria, Hythe, Kent. Sr Teresa is now reunited with her parents John and Bridget Moran, her brothers Tommie Joe and Vincent, her sister Sr. Kathleen, her sisters-in-law Mary and Nancy and her niece Myra Flynn. Sr. Teresa will be forever loved and dearly missed by her nephew Joe Moran, her nieces Noreen McNabola (Kilnagross) Josephine McTigue and Teresa Keaney (Drumshanbo) and the entire Marist Community. May Sr. Teresa Rest In Peace.

Sr Teresa will repose at the residence of her nephew Joe and Grainne Moran, Ballinaboy, Leitrim PO, Co Leitrim (N41 XP48) on Thursday, April 24 from 3.00 pm to 8.00 pm and her Funeral Mass will take place in St. Patrick's Church, Drumshanbo on Friday, April 25 at 11.00 am with burial afterwards in the new Cemetery. Sr Briege Reynolds, Granard, Longford / Enniskillen, Fermanagh

The death occurred on Thursday, April 17, 2025 of Sr Briege Reynolds, Granard, Longford / Enniskillen, Fermanagh and served in Pakistan. Sr Briege, Presentation Sisters, beloved daughter of the late Kathleen and Patrick and dear sister of Sr Kathleen, Rose, Mary, Pat, Peter and the late Charlie, Bernie, Terry, John and Patrick. RIP.

Sr Briege will repose in Quinn Brothers Funeral Home, 138 Obins Street, Portadown, BT62 1BP on Monday, April 21 from 12 noon until 6pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday, April 23 in St Mary's Church, Granard at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in Kill Cemetery.

          Brendan Dunne, Gardanne, France / formerly of Ballyleague, Lanesboro, Roscommon

          The death occurred peacefully following an illness borne with great courage on Saturday, March 15, 2025 of Brendan Dunne, Gardanne, France and formerly of Ballyleague, Lanesboro, Co Roscommon. 

          Beloved husband to Marion (McDevitt) and devoted father to Emma & Matthieu. Cherished son of Noreen and the late Denis. Loving brother to Siobhán, Gráinne, Gary, Niamh & Fiona. Brendan will be sadly missed by his heartbroken family, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and a wide circle of friends and neighbours.

          Funeral in France with commemoration service at a later date in Ireland.
